Let’s stick with a basic rule for this thread, that it’s for draft watch and discussion only.

It’s not for trade hypotheticals, who you think needs to be delisted or traded, how many games you think we will win, some other team will win, how many picks you want in the 1st round or discussion of current HFC players.

It’s about youngsters who are eligible for the draft in 2021.

Key dates to look out for:
  • NAB AFL Draft Combine: TBC
  • NAB AFL Draft: Wednesday November 24 - Thursday November 25
  • NAB AFL Pre-season and Rookie Drafts: Friday November 26

DGB isn't just an intercepting defender, I hate generic terms that pigeon hold a players trait. He's elite one on one and a brilliant contested mark.

Sure is. But currently we can't say he is going to be our Hartigan replacement. My issue with using our first on Gibcus would be that he is too similar to DGB and our midfield desperately needs an elite draftee first and foremost.

Darcy Wilmot. One of my favourites this year. Too bad he is currently a HBF. 200 gamer right there imo. Aggressive, quick, great agility, great overhead and neat skills. One of the youngest draftable players.

Holy shit!

Kid looks amazing!

I wonder whether, if Josh Gibcus is available with our first pick, we grab him and then know we have our entire defence sorted for the next ten years and then perhaps use our picks in the 20s on a small forward like Jesse Motlop and an wingman like Hugh Jackson; and use our first pick next year on an inside mid, when we have a better picture on Jai, Nash and Finn's development and trajectory.
Anything could happen & Gibcus could never play a game etc.

If he's best available - sure - but selecting him in the hope of locking up our KPD for the next 10yrs is probably flawed.

FYI Rachelle is already benching 115kgs apparently. That's pretty beastly for an 18 year old

Hardwick was in a similar boat coming into the club strength wise. That said, bench press is probably the compound lift with the least crossover to football.

Did somebody say 'Poppy replacement?'
I know he doesn't have the pace of Poppy, but he has been variously described as electric, powerful and gravity-defying (and that was just 2 write-ups).
The kids has class with a capital A - and as discussed previously, he is more than just a fwd/mid hopeful.
He was the MVP for the U16 Nathional champs (ahead of Daicos etc) playing in the midfield, averaging over 30 touches.

I keep coming back to this kid, and hope we take him at 7 (or Callaghan by some miracle, or Mac Andrew).
I figure we can go for a solid couple of players with our 2 early second-rounders.
And I'm particularly excited about the prospect of Josh delivering into our forward line. Think about the impact Gulden has had at the Swans ...

I actually rather us have a look at Aleer with pick 24 maybe
Can he kick? Someone posted in here that he struggles.

If he can't kick the ball, he's no good, no matter how many marks he takes.

I've seen nothing. Typical lack of info from AFL/NABLeague.
I can't believe they dont make an event out of it, granted this year it would be hard with the limited amount at the combine and other restrictions but I'd love to see a draft break down and seeing future prospects perform before the actual draft.

One dimensional i hear, not the greatest kick, but then again we've had Frawley & Lake.

Chippa couldn't hit the back of a basketball board... True story, all players on opposite team wanted him to go first cause they knew he'd miss. Haha

The NFL combine is a huge deal, Gil could learn a thing or two about how to promote it.
