Let’s stick with a basic rule for this thread, that it’s for draft watch and discussion only.

It’s not for trade hypotheticals, who you think needs to be delisted or traded, how many games you think we will win, some other team will win, how many picks you want in the 1st round or discussion of current HFC players.

It’s about youngsters who are eligible for the draft in 2021.

Key dates to look out for:
  • NAB AFL Draft Combine: TBC
  • NAB AFL Draft: Wednesday November 24 - Thursday November 25
  • NAB AFL Pre-season and Rookie Drafts: Friday November 26

Question for any NM lurkers who come through these parts:
How big is the gap between Callaghan and Horne? Obviously quite different players and have different roles to play, but I'm currently unsure who would be better for us moving forwards as they both cover serious gaps in what we need.
Before his foot injury I wouldn't have been surprised if North took Callaghan as there's no risk of him going home, and his impact on games was immense.

Why are you asking North Melbourne posters about Horne and Callaghan?

Callaghan would technically, position wise, be more suited to us from a list build. Having a strong outside game, being able to play off half back, having genuine speed are all things we need.

But Horne, unless he has a quite champs, seems next level talent wise and we won’t pass on him. Being a genuine forward also helps.

Exciting times for our midfield of the future.

I find the discourse interesting about what they need/what their supporter base is leaning towards, and I know they've got some very active draft watchers.
I like our takes and insight into things a heap, but I like to read around, and if someone from elsewhere can fill me in on something, I'm keen to hear it.

You know they have their own board, yeah? 😂

Maybe take the ‘active draft watchers’ that thought Will Phillips was the right pick opinion with a grain of salt 😂

eDPS' power rankings to return tomorrow. Apparently the GOAT has shattered the ceiling of his top 10. Get on board now before the champs because his value is only going to 🚀
Ahh no the rankings aren’t coming up tomorrow, my July rankings already came out on the 1st 😂

Just my extended thoughts on yesterday’s game tomorrow

Well looking forward to your thoughts on the game and the GOAT regardless. Can't see how the kid doesn't go top 10 with his tools

I’ve done notes on him for Draft Central so keep an eye on that once that is released in the coming days 👍

His running capacity is the main one that needs to be refined at the next level, likely to start forward or back when he plays AFL but if he can work on that endurance he could be anything as a modern taller athletic midfielder.

Awesome. I noticed that in the last Q also. Hands on hips and lost appetite for the contest. Looked well and truly cooked!

In an ideal world we snag that pick 5 from the Gold Coast and land Callaghan and Goater in the top 10. Then use our two early 20's picks on more needs based selections within that range.

Regardless, this is a fun time of year and something that becomes far more interesting the worse we perform. Silver Linings and all that.

Horne on Fogarty. From giantroo. Apologies for the extra text. 🤷

Bloody hell Fogarty has like 25 kg’s on him and he still took him down and to then wrestle and fight him, I’m in love.

Horne is going to kill kids during the champs.

Please can the planets align and we get him
