Let’s stick with a basic rule for this thread, that it’s for draft watch and discussion only.

It’s not for trade hypotheticals, who you think needs to be delisted or traded, how many games you think we will win, some other team will win, how many picks you want in the 1st round or discussion of current HFC players.

It’s about youngsters who are eligible for the draft in 2021.

Key dates to look out for:
  • NAB AFL Draft Combine: TBC
  • NAB AFL Draft: Wednesday November 24 - Thursday November 25
  • NAB AFL Pre-season and Rookie Drafts: Friday November 26

Managed to catch most of the game, I thought ward and goater were best on ground . I think the top 10 is going to move around a fair bit until the championships have been completed , but looking at who is going early on current phantom drafts I'd have no issue splitting pick 2 after watching that and picking up a combination of players.

Ward-was everywhere also kicked 2.2 and was damaging for the most part by hand and foot.

Goater - clean through traffic and has beautiful Agility, love his size I would say he is one who moves into the top 10.

Taylor- I thought was pretty clean in the contest and has nice awareness and skills.

Gibcus - held his own when matched up on darcy , seems to know when it is the right time to mark or spoil.

Rachele- played inside mid for a fair bit , he is a bit hesitant in the contest you can see it isnt natural for him but is such a skill full user.

Hobbs- is such a bull, im not sure of his ceiling but I can definetly see the hopper comparisons.

Daicos - I don't know if I'm being highly critical but I just don't think he is as good as what has been talked up. Plays loose all day , doesn't do much defensive running . He is just the link man for the metro boys but I think his skills aren't elite either more so tidy . I do love his work rate to be able to consitantly get to contest and provide offensive run and his first 2-4 steps while moving are electric and he can get good separation on his opponents.

Chesser was barely sighted and I wasn't huge on sinn from what I saw . I actually think those 2 along with sonsie who were all highly touted coming into the season might slip outside the top 10.

Thanks for those who watched the whole game and have or will provide write ups.

I watched the last Q and saw 2 or 3 moments from the GOAT and thought 🤯... Kid has serious upside! One play especially where he took off from half back and galloped through the middle - no one got near him 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀

I would be shocked if his performances keep up, if he doesn't go top 5 (the write ups say he was good overall)

I also liked the ward kid who was very tidy.
Daicos is Andrew gaff 2.0 for mine. Good player

I'm not entirely convinced of this after last season. Maybe at the top end of the draft, but Mitchell and Brockman were absolutely positional selections. We may have rated them around the best available at the points they were drafted, but we had holes in the list they filled.

Yeah I meant top end talent. Later in the draft is used to fill positions and hopefully find a few gems
Basically don’t take risks with your first pick

Goater was the standout in terms of looking for a player who may become something very special. Is the pro type modern day midfielder. Thought Sinn was excellent in the 1st half. Brilliant left leg. We definitely lack outside speed and class and he has that in spades. Hoping we package up our 2 early 2nd rounders for a mid 1st rounder and land 2 top end talents from this years draft.

Horne within reach?
If Day is our for the year then yeah, I can't see us winning another, I think he has almost become our most important player.

He has played 5 games, we won 3 and performed well in the other 2.

If Scrimshaw, CJ, Wingard and a few others are also put on ice then it's just a matter of hoping for a North win!

2 wins. North aren’t winning twice

Unlikely. We could go winless but not sure North have 2 wins in them.

I give North a chance against Carlton and Adelaide and a ever so slight one against Sydney at home. Playing some really competitive footy with cunnington and tarrant back, it's amazing what a couple senior players can do to a team performance and structure. Few young boys have improved and look like become A grade in Thomas zurhaar and ldu.

I agree with what you're saying, but I just think they'll make sure they end up with the no 1 pick even if it means laying down vs a Crows for eg.
