This trade is clearly dogshit, but if you think Cooney is biased towards the Dogs, I can only assume you didn't catch a single minute of Trade Radio last year. He was absolutely insufferable in his disdain towards the Dogs and worshipping of Essendon. This trade is sh*t because Cooney has single digit IQ, not because he's biased towards the Dogs

I think he's mentioned a few times that he's more pro-Essendon than pro-Dogs. I don't remember the reasoning behind it, although I have a vague memory about the WAGs being more inclusive of Haylea or something? I don't recall any particular bitterness towards the Dogs, just idk got on with people better at Essendon. Not that it really matters much.

His role in the media these days seems to be more along the lines of Billy Brownless on Nine or the silly bunch of blokes on Bounce, as opposed to your Matthew Lloyd and Kane Cornes types that take themselves far more seriously, or the obscene number finding themselves in commentary boxes these days which seem to fall somewhere in-between.

It is actually not the worst statement. He is an inside mid. The combination of Mitchell, O'Meara and Worpel didn't work all year. It was better when a big body like Newcombe or Nash were in there or Wingard provided some outside class
Mitchell and O'Meara are better which means he gets shifted outside the square and away from his best position where others are better

According to Cooney if we had retained pick 2 and took it to the draft North Melbourne were going to be very nice to us and allow us to get two top 4 picks by not bidding on Daicos to force us to use it for him. Outside of Cerra there is not a lot of star players getting traded too.

I am going to think that we will have a lot more pick trades and ruck depth getting traded this year

But yes, it is going to be an uneventful one. No one really wants to move, and so thats why for the most part it is fringe players who can't get a game. I still hope that Neale backtracks last minute and declares he wants to be at Freo. That would spice things up.
