Went at mid 90’s in his the finals last year as well. Certainly a good unique. Witts actually jumps onto my radar after seeing that as well. Had a shocking year but still won the second most hit outs. If he’s fit and healthy he should get better around the ground and arguably get to more contests and see even more hit outs. Lots to think about in the rucks this year as it seems hardly anyone is forking out for GawnFort mine that reinforces my R2 choice of Big O!!

Till he breaks downDaniher is going to be chopping out for Big O in the ruck
im tossing up between Campbell and Cameron and Powell and HeppellCan’t decide what to do in the ruck. At the moment have Grundy and O’Brien but not sure whether to go Grundy and Big O and get some more rookies off the field
I am thinking about Witts and Big O
I liked the look of ROB's start to the year and optimistically had him 115-120 first 5, but Gawn is gonna go higher surely.
Max starts the season against Meek, Ryder & Flynn. That's gonna sting but ROB & Grundy have value and is a strong R1/2 combo.
Do the dees let Max have an easy first 3 to warm into the season? Extra ruck time for Jackson?
Hmm this is something to think about. If Max goes 130 from his first 6, could be non owners (me included) behind. Would need ROB to go 120 and try and make up the 10 points elsewhereI have just paid up and brought in Gawn for this exact reason. He could easily go huge for the first 6 weeks of the year and I would spend 3/4 of the year waiting for my rookies to generate enough cash then to get him in while missing out of 100s of points.
Set and forget with Gawn/Grundy
I think ROB will have a good start and the $ difference "should" cover that 10pts if you can use it.Hmm this is something to think about. If Max goes 130 from his first 6, could be non owners (me included) behind. Would need ROB to go 120 and try and make up the 10 points elsewhere
Exactly on the money RE FlynnI think ROB will have a good start and the $ difference "should" cover that 10pts if you can use it.
Those with Gawn have a ripping captain option to start the season though.
Top score last year was an UNADJUSTED 131.
Previous years high of (2019)154, (2018)143, (2017)140, (2016)146,(2015)146.
There's gonna be some 280-300 captain scores in the early rounds there.
This year it just seems there's more clubs that struggled to get a Ruck1 and some that are R1 in Draper, Pittonet are well below Gawn.
Freo & GWS will be hitting the season start with Meek & Flynn.
Traders podcast raising the interesting point in that Flynn @ $170k on your field will likely post a better score than even the $260k mids, and even more likely better than any $170k fwd or def on field.
I wouldn't be entirely mad at my team running a cheap ruck if you don't compare Flynn to Gawn/Grundy/ROB each week but compare, say
Merrett/Lloyd & Flynn
To
Gawn & $170k fwd/def.
Agree. You’re basically going to be needing to downgrade a premium to find cash if anything happens to Flynn and you need to trade up to a decent/premium optionI think rolling with Flynn at R2 is playing with fire. If he has a terrible first game or two, he could easily be dropped for Mummy before he makes any decent cash.
He’s been on their list for a number of years and Preuss was brought in ahead of him as an indication they didn’t think he was ready. He’s a great R3 but I wouldn’t be expecting an O’Brien like 1st year and he could easily find himself out after a poor showing or two
Gawn is just as likely to lose money early as Melbourne experiment with Jackson.I think ROB will have a good start and the $ difference "should" cover that 10pts if you can use it.

At this point, with Grundy & ROB (+a loaded midfield) I still need 5 rookies on field 1D/1M/3F plus the bench.Gawn is just as likely to lose money early as Melbourne experiment with Jackson.
I dont see much risk with Flynn at R2. It seems an easy way to pick up points over teams with Highmore or Rowe on-field instead.
I'm not sure how you are reducing the risk. Isn't the risk that if Flynn flops you'll have to trade out a premo elsewhere to get a premo r2? If he succeeds and you move him up to r2 you need to trade out a premo ruck to do it.Everyone will be starting with Flynn R3 anyway, so if he has a good first couple of weeks (and another suitable R3 exists) you could potentially downgrade one of your starting rucks to a suitable R3 and move Flynn on field.
Same result (Flynn R2) but you reduced the risk by seeing some form first.
If he flops and/or gets dropped he's still your R3 instead of R2 and you dont have to sell around your team to get him off the field.I'm not sure how you are reducing the risk. To me, if you think he'll succeed, he should be at r2.
Sure but if he succeeds, you have to rearrange your team too - or have your best performing rookie on the bench. I think it comes down to whether you rate him or not.If he flops and/or gets dropped he's still your R3 instead of R2 and you dont have to sell around your team to get him off the field.
