Chiefs acquired LB Melvin Ingram from the Steelers in exchange for a 2022 sixth-round draft pick.
Ingram, 32, has seen a reduction in playing time as the 2021 season has worn on, struggling with a groin injury through parts of the year. He was clearly unhappy in Pittsburgh and will join a Chiefs defense that has pressured the passer at a 23 percent clip this season, the 12th lowest in the NFL. Ingram will likely join Frank Clark as Kansas City's primary EDGE rushers for the rest of the year. Ingram has 11 quarterback hurries and one sack through eight weeks.

Ben Roethlisberger has completed 25.8 percent of his pass attempts of 20 yards or more, the second lowest rate in the league.
Only Jared Goff has been worse on downfield throws through Week 8. Roethlisberger's long-deteriorating arm strength has produced some wobbly, inaccurate floaters on many of his 31 downfield throws this season in a Pittsburgh offense predicated on quick, short passes to Najee Harris, Diontae Johnson, and the team's tight ends. Roethlisberger's downfield passing woes have had an outsized impact on Chase Claypool, he has caught just three of 10 targets over 20 yards downfield for 99 yards and a touchdown through seven games. On Sunday against Cleveland, Claypool saw just one deep shot from Roethlisberger. The second-year wideout's fantasy ceiling is firmly capped with the aged veteran under center. Claypool profiles as a decent WR3 option in Week 9 against Chicago.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer confirmed DE Danielle Hunter suffered a torn pec Week 8 against the Cowboys and will miss the remainder of the season.
Hunter was averaging a sack per game before Week 8, putting him on pace for a career year. He missed all of 2020 with a herniated disc but was dominant in his prior two seasons. Hunter landed on 14.5 sacks in 2018 and 2019. His injury is a massive blow to the Vikings' defensive line. Everson Griffen now stands as the team's top pass rusher. He has five sacks and four TFLs on the year.

exciting times Blacky your boy will be back from injury soon..

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said OT Ja'Wuan James (Achilles') has a chance to return in December.
Harbaugh added that James has suffered no setbacks in his recovery from a torn Achilles' that he suffered in May. With Ronnie Stanley (ankle) done for the year, James' eventual return will give the Ravens extra tackle depth as they head into the playoffs. James opted out of the 2020 season and only appeared in three games for the Broncos in 2019 due to a knee injury.

49ers acquired DE Charles Omenihu from the Texans for a future late-round draft pick.
The transaction is reportedly pending a physical. A fifth round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Omenihu started five games for Houston in 2020 and two games this year. He recorded four sacks in 2020 and has yet to have a sack in 2021, though he has four QB hits and a dozen hurries across six games. Omenihu will likely be a rotational pass rusher with the Niners

If the Giants get more than a late third its highway robbery... genuinely overrated. Cant block. Below average hands.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reports teams are "interested" in trading for Evan Engram before the NFL's 4 p.m. trade deadline.
Vacchiano said the Packers have "asked around" about potential tight end trades in recent days following Robert Tonyan's Week 8 season-ending knee injury. Engram, long misused by Giants offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, would be a sensible acquisition for Green Bay if they're willing to pay the price for Engram. A source told Vacchiano that the Giants' asking price for Engram is "higher than you'd think." Engram, who once upon a time (2017) was a top-5 fantasy tight end, would have far more fantasy appeal in Green Bay's offense than he does in New York's vanilla scheme. Kyle Rudolph would become the team's primary pass-catching tight end if Engram departs via trade.

Josh Lambo, the next sacrificial lamb for Mike Tomlin and his trick plays

Steelers signed K Josh Lambo, formerly of the Jaguars.
Unceremoniously dispatched by Jacksonville last month, Lambo joins Pittsburgh after Chris Boswell -- who took a cheap shot from a Cleveland defender Sunday -- entered the NFL's concussion protocol and will likely miss a game or two. Lambo had missed three field goals and two extra points in three games with the Jags this season before his October release. Once an elite NFL kicker, Lambo should have some waiver wire appeal with the Steelers, who have attempted 15 field goals this season (14th most).

Most of the NFC playoff field has already taken shape

Posted by Mike Florio on November 2, 2021, 10:59 AM EDT

It’s still early, but not really that early, in the 2021 season. It’s definitely not too early to realize that the NFC has six teams that have emerged from the pack.

Those teams are the 7-1 Packers, the 7-1 Rams, the 7-1 Cardinals, the 6-1 Cowboys, the 6-2 Buccaneers, and the 5-2 Saints. No other NFC team has fewer than four losses through eight weeks.

The good news for the NFL is that the playoffs expanded in 2020 to include a seventh team per conference. Otherwise, the only drama in the NFC would relate to the seeding of those six teams.

Plenty of teams are alive for the seventh seed. Basically, everyone except the 0-8 Lions could get hot and steal the seventh spot. While that team will then become the sacrificial lamb for the second seed during Super Duper Wild Card Three-Day Weekend, making the playoffs vs. not making the playoffs can often be the difference between getting fired or getting another year. (Fans of some teams may be rooting for the “no playoff” option at this point.)

So as six teams jockey for the No. 1 seed, nine will jostle to be the last team in. While things can (and often do) change, it seems pretty clear at this point that the NFC has separated into the six haves, the nine have-lesses, and the have-nothing Lions.

Ruggs was charged with DUI resulting in death, a Category B felony offense in Nevada with a minimum of two years in state prison and a maximum of 20 years. This is an ongoing investigation that could result in the end of Ruggs' career.

2 years would be an absolute joke, Nevada's laws are an insult to victims.

Ahhh, yes…the leaves turn in northeast Ohio and the wheels come completely off the Browns season.

Depodesta and Berry ought to be used to this…after all they presided over 1-31
