we have had to check in for 12 months now, the amount of people i see staring at the QR check-in looking like what the hell i do, it boggles the mind

as soon as i got vax certificate, i put it as a shortcut on the main menu next to my sagov app
I bet there will be plenty who will sign into MyGov to get their cert at the gate/head of line.

The only thing is there are no signs to say you are in the no bag line until you get to the entry.

SMA, it's not hard. You wonder if those in charge have every been to a game themselves as a customer.

They also generally don't provide bag free lines until the last minute.

The MCG and SCG, on the other hand, have clearly marked dedicated bag free lines from the moment the gates open (with announcements advising where these lines are at each gate).

When it comes to crowd intake, it feels like the SMA still think they're at Football Park.

they also need to extend the fencing they have for the lines on the eastern gate, it's a shit show lining up

i can see that happening and then they won't get the code quick enough or the code wont work on the first attempt

I set my screen print of the MyGov cert up as a "favourite" in gallery.

Pity they couldn't link tge certificates to QR coding before November 23rd

I just got that set-up, clicked on the download to phone option

App said it was done, can't find it anywhere and now the options gone.

Will be logging into Medicare all the time now

And we only have three gates.

But the scoreboard and Moreton Bay Fig trees are pretty.

That's what it felt like we had with Walsh.

Nicks certainly seems like a leader who can get the troops in line and make sure everything is running smoothly, but whether he's the ideas man I can't say for sure.
IMO Nicks is .....his idea to move Laird into the midfield

Also had a huge impact on GWS in their GF year .....GWS were noticably more aggressive in their ball hunting and tackling that year .....hasn't been repeated since Nicks left

Was that entirely Nicks ....no, but it is a strong coincidence

Just as an aside - I recommend not doing that if the doc has a barcode that needs to be scanned. Screen shots (depending on how they're done) can be a lower quality than an original doc (PDF) and barcodes often don't scan easily, if at all.

Yes, that would be good. Would probably require MyGov SA to work together with MyGov federal / Medicare, and there's your problem, I guess :)

Ooh, good idea. Can't work out how to do that on my phone, but never mind, I know where it is.

I'm afraid to try and move it to another folder :$ but I know where it is.

i can see that happening and then they won't get the code quick enough or the code wont work on the first attempt
Which is fine, as long as they step out of the queue until they've got their act together. But so many people think that their lack of foresight / organisation doesn't matter, they can just stand there and fiddle while others wait.

App said it was done, can't find it anywhere and now the options gone.
Probably depends on your phone / OS, but mine ended up in the "Downloads" folder under "My Files".

- Or, log on to Mygov / Medicare from a PC and download to your PC, then copy to your phone. I don't know about the app not having the option any more, I just know that I've logged in to MyGov and downloaded the certificate at least twice, they don't limit it.

Anyway - the underlying thing here is that - IMO - organisations like government departments and SMA don't think these things through. They just assume that if they tell everyone "show your vax certificate" it'll all be fine, and they don't take into account that they're dealing with a large number of people, many of whom will struggle with it - and so they don't take any steps to manage or filter the entry queues / processes. Result will be that there will be a logjam of people ready to roll, stuck behind those who aren't and are struggling.

NSW Govt removing the need to use QR codes for many venues, likely before Christmas:
https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw...covid-cases-keep-falling-20211118-p59a1y.html

The article talks about supermarkets & cafes as being among the first to be removed from QR requirements. I'd expect that outdoor events, such as cricket & football matches, would also be deemed low risk venues as well.

By the time the football season starts (in 4 months), I'd expect people to need to prove that they are double vaxxed, but not to need QR codes for getting into the grounds.

The first game is still 4 months away. You'd hope that people would have worked out the best/quickest way to access their vax certificate by then, given that it's something they'll be needing to do on a daily basis for the foreseeable future.
That's true, there is hope. And hopefully the Port supporters will have worked it out before the Showdown. :)

Dumb campaigners will then join that line anyway.

Like the people who join the no bag line.

There’s a term I made up for people like this….socially myopic. These people will hold up a line while fumbling for their vaccination record then once in stop dead to faff around again stopping people from moving freely. The same people who take up two car parks with one car.

Why wouldn't you just be able to show the Covid certificate you can add to your phone's wallet? Can't see why we will need to have it scanned.
2 different issues...
  • Need to scan the venue's QR code prior to entry.
  • Need to display your Covid Certificate to prove double-vax status.

You can scan your QR code while standing in line.

Then show the image of cert to security guard as you walk past

And when they can't open phone will ask for pen to fill out book

Then there will be the Donald Duck's loudly proclaiming they have never used a qr code because it's government stealth and will hold up the line as he asserts his right to put on a false name

I mean well done, but if they received the same AFL distribution as the Crows, would they actually be debt free? Difference I believe in AFL distributions between the 2 is close to $6m.
Which makes the Poort Pear debt even more impressive.

Their motto should be “Spend today and let someone else worry about it tomorrow”

It's only a falsehood if you give a sh*t and are looking for reasons to say no. Who cares what foundation of lies their campaign is built upon. It's a guernsey, no more, no less, how many have we worn? The only people that should care are Pies people and yet there's masses of Crows people even more emotionally entangled. And even if it is a ladder approach, what's it to you or the Crows if they become the second Magpie brand in the AFL?

I hope they get permission to wear it at both showdowns, it's a good guernsey that's steeped in tradition. KG and Cornes would be awesome to listen to if that happened.
Thats because you are assuming Crows fans are only made up of the non pafc sanfl supporter base. There are plenty of Port Magpie fans who became Crows fans in 1991 and didn't switch back. For those who were die hard magpie fans to walk into Alberton in 1997 and see all its sanfl history relegated to cupboards and teal everywhere was heartbreaking.

I don't think they should wear it because it's their sanfl jumper and to me they are continually bastardising and cheapening that jumper and this pr exercise flies is hypocriticalto their actions. So excuse me while I give a crap. Since I am now effectively homeless as a sanfl fan other than the Crows reserves it saddens me to see them place such little stock in that jumper to play it in their reserves team that are full of nuffies who dont deserve to wear it. Imagine the outcry in reverse if the Crows decided to wear the Sturt guernsey. Lots of Sturt fans are port fans. They'd be having a massive spit. That guernsey does not belong in the afl and they agreed to that.

My point was more towards other posters who are saving their PDF certificate to their phone. Not sure if it's required to have that version when there's one that can be saved to your phone wallet.

also more than likely haven't been vaxxed and want to cause a commotion about discriminated against, and off course will happen in front of me

Scan QR Code
Show vacc certification
Empty all pockets of metallic things, get buzzed.
Maybe get a pad down
Scan ticket
Hope to get to a seat by kickoff
