Coaching roundabout

I think Clarko is the only person who can finally get Carlton back up the ladder.

Collingwood are in serious strife with their list and I can’t see him going there. Nor Pyke if he thought the Adelaide media was tough to deal with

AFL might want Clarko at Gold Coast. Hell of a job but depends on $$$ and his appetite

So my guess
Clarko to Carlton
Brad Scott to Collingwood
GC - Choco!😄

Roughy: someone poaches Hardwick
according to an ITK carlton supporter, that gets really good intel, on the main board Carlton have already reached out to Clarko and have been told no.. apparently Carlton were told that Mr Clarkson is taking a year off next year..

sounds plausible given that he’ll still be getting paid by the Hawks next year anyway.. pointless working and getting paid another wage on top of that.. most of it would end up just going to the tax man!..

and I mean... why wouldnt you take a year off if your Clarkson anyway.. not like a year off will hurt your chances of landing a new job in the future.

Dew definitely needs support if he stays

They get on well but would Clarkson want to be more hands on?

Would be interesting

would be interesting, he may not even want to coach next year

He did say that he wanted to take a year off

Still, you have to ask. And throw megadollars at him

Tim Silvers said this AA. He expects Clarko to take next year off.

Son is doing year 12.

sure.. but he’s probably gonna get a million from the hawks next year for doing nothing anyway.. then have multi million dollar contracts thrown at him at the end of next year..

he’d be stupid not to take an entire year off to refresh the mind, body and soul.

Realistically he's missing out on Carlton and Collingwood. Nothing much to cry about there. Wait another year, you might get a better team that's closer to a flag to take over, rather than having to put 3-4 years of work into a list to get it back up there. I imagine that may not be something he's as keen on doing at this point in his career.

So Kornes gushing on about 100kg Wines and sending him into the forward lines says "I'd be pulling on that lever a bit more" ... something true for a change.

Also was doing some extreme brown nosing complimenting Hutcho on FC that even Hutcho looked a bit uncomfortable :laughv1:
I mean he's a very ordinary kick

Can loose touch with the game pretty quickly I reckon. But you're right, his reputation isn't going anywhere so would walk into whatever job he wants.

Said it before but I think a smarter role would be a director of coaching or something similar. Stay out of the firing squad when you don't win another flag like everyone assumes you will, and collect big $$. Protect the legacy.

I can't believe enforced "gardening leave" isn't a thing in AFL. If a coach elects to leave the losing club should have the right to veto any move to a rival during the contract period.

If there is mutual agreement (ie no payout) to get a new job, that would be the only way he should get a gig elsewhere.

Until David Mackay gets there in 2024, is Marc Murphy going to be the worst 300 game player of all time?

Victorian footy fans could make a shock return this weekend with the AFL secretly confident it will be allowed to throw open the turnstiles in the wake of Melbourne’s sixth lockdown.
High-level talks for Geelong’s game against St Kilda to be declared open to the public are advancing in what would shape as a major boost for the competition on the eve of September.

Regional Victoria was released from lockdown on Monday night in a political decision which delivered unexpected hope that country-based Cats members would be granted entry for the Round 22 clash against the Saints, which is likely to be played on Saturday night but has not yet been assigned a timeslot.

**** off afl do you really think this is appropriate? when you consider lockdown 5 was kicked off from people GOING TO THE FOOTY

ugh

Its debatable. Kane played in a better side across their careers. At their best, Murphy was an elite mid, something Kane never was.

I don't think Marc Murphy has ever been an elite mid. He's had a couple of good seasons but his best was still a fair way off the elite mids of his generation
