Now Patrick Cripps is out of the Carlton team.

PAPS will be playing Carlton’s seconds.

Teague’s plan to keep his job

Plan A: win enough games
Plan B: drop enough players that losing can’t be blamed on the coach

It’s actually a form of genius 😛

It’s the AFL being the AFL. They’re unaccountable, obsessed with money, full of their own importance, and at best intermittently committed to doing the right thing.

There’s something about sports administrators that makes them absolutely terrible - look at the IOC/AOC, FIFA…
Is it an AFL directive to wear masks during the game?

If so, I expect the book to be thrown at Richmond.
he had food at his feet…

The only way to fix tanking is create a draft lottery pool and go as high as leaving just the top 5 out of it. That way teams sitting in 7th and 8th don't just think ok let's just slip out and snare the number one.

Until we do this, clubs will always magically find reasons to lose at this time of year. Experimentation, injury management.

Why is tanking even a legal conversation. They can do whatever the hell they want. If they want to ruin their culture then do it. I don't see why it matters. Then again not surprised by this semi professional league caring about things like this. Compensation picks are stupid, academy picks, even academy zones, are stupid. The fixture is the most flawed system in world sport.

Its important because you want teams to perform to their capability. Especially with betting agencies involved. It's all about integrity. Losing doesn't necessarily ruin your culture. The Crows highlight this point more than anything. For 30 years we had a finals or bust approach. Look where we are. The fact the afl pretend it doesn't happen is very amateur. Especially with the money it receives from gambling.

Dogs are either going through a heavy training block in preparation for finals, or they're cooked.

Feels like they've been worked out during the season. Shut down a couple of their midfielders and their system falls apart.

Also their midfield is deep but their bottom 4-5 role players are quite weak

Ceglar pantsing them in the ruck, it's astonishing they haven't gone after a decent Ruck option allowing English to play KPP

Not too many teams with a worse culture than ours and we have strived to make the finals each and every year.

This is the first time we have been prepared to take a step back.

The people in charge of the club set the culture of the club and ours have sucked for nearly 20 years.

If Bulldogs lose today and assuming Geelong, Melbourne and Port win today then if Port win next weeks clash between Port and Bullies they will get 2nd place. Geelong play Melbourne so one of them has to lose.

You have to give credit to Port, they win the games they should against the sides below them.
Well, good thing they play a lot more teams outside the 8 for a team who supposedly finished top of the ladder last season* just show how the AFL fixture benefit them a lot. The team with the best AFL fixture finished top with Dixon and DBJ making the AA team....WTF.

I can smell pick 1 coming up….
Could be farcical if NM win this round and next week we play off with Pick 1 for the loser

Always dicey when bottom teams play each other in the final round. If only there was some way the AFL could have predicted how the teams would go this season this could have been avoided

Blows my mind how you can't beat a top 8 team and you end up 2nd. I think they've beaten 1
