The 2020 flag was theirs too, all they had to do was beat Richmond at home.

Having said that, what real chance would port have had last night. I mean the dogs midfield is a far more powerful one than ports and even they got totally overpowered. That 119 point margin absolutely would have got a fair shake of being beatenCan’t think of a bigger screw up and missed opportunity in recent AFL history.
Port finish top last year, second this year, lost two home preliminary finals and with it, the chance to play Victorian teams in a GF without those teams having a home ground advantage at the MCG and they f*cked it all.
Glorious.
Agree, was sensationalAfter last night the VFL need to tear up that contract, absolute injustice the GF isn’t shared around
The last couple years have shown the contract may not mean that much as they have added 2 years to it to compensate the games not at the MCG. If that's all it takes then I'm fine with the AFL doubling the years of the contract but keeping the number of games the same so it can rotate every second yearAfter last night the VFL need to tear up that contract, absolute injustice the GF isn’t shared around
Felt like a GF to me.Mmm, I didn't feel that. Bit like a glorified minor round game to me, lacked atmosphere, minimal mad supporter interaction and the yellow Sherrin in a GF is a disgrace
+1Out of both years I think 2020 was their best shot
If they managed to knock off Richmond in the Prelim I am almost certain that they would have beaten Geelong for the flag.
Without Ebert and Hartlett this year I reckon they regressed and despite finishing 2nd it was pretty obvious this year that they weren't the best side, but in 2020 they were the best side in the comp.

So deserved. Can’t think of a bigger screw up and missed opportunity in recent AFL history.

So just so I've got this right
- the Premiers also have the Rising Star winner
- the runners up have last years pick 1, and a top 3 pick this year
Yeah, we ain't competing for a while
DarcyWhy do dogs have pick 3?
Trigg at best was a transitional/interim CEO. A guy to keep the seat warm and the engine running for 12-18 months, he didn't have the business acumen or vision to ever be anything more than that.
The fact that the club kept him in the role for over a decade is an embarrassment and reflects poorly on the likes of Chapman.

IMHO Darcy won't get a bid to maybe #5 or #6 ......very skinnyDarcy
Watch North bid on 2 to try and screw over the BulldogsIMHO Darcy won't get a bid to maybe #5 or #6 ......very skinny

Bulldogs: nah, you can have him.
