I think I saw somewhere that it was 3km...Probably a stupid question, but anyone know what distance the time trial was? The article doesn't mention it as far as I can see.

Is it just me, or is Dan Butler looking more and more like the Paddle Pop lion????
Ever since the early scratch matches i saw him play he has really impressed me and as you said to be so much fitter than last year is a massive bonus for him, i have big hopes for this kid , Neale Mk 11Bloody glad I snagged him in the advocates draft with this result!
Actually don't think he was much of an athlete, more a footballers footballer, but that effort is well recognised and is hopefully a sign of things to come
Needs more Higgins...Seriously awesome to see Hanners win the TT.
Imagine if he got a relatively injury free run at it this year (in particular no hammies).
It made such a difference when he was up and going in the first half of that final against the Bulldogs in particular.
If we got 20 or so games anything like that we'd be laughing.
To potentially be adding Gresham, Crouch and Hannas to the team that we generally had in the second half of last season is pretty bloody exciting.
They don't release the times or any names after the top 10any chance of finding out their times? i'm training for a 5k myself and would be interesting to compare
They usually get around 7-10 minutesany chance of finding out their times? i'm training for a 5k myself and would be interesting to compare
Last year Phillips won with a time just over 9 minutes. Doulton Langlands was 2nd with a time also just under 10 minutes. Then everyone else obviously over 10 but they didn't release the specifics of actual times.any chance of finding out their times? i'm training for a 5k myself and would be interesting to compare
More the little Kid from Mad Max 2 for me.Is it just me, or is Dan Butler looking more and more like the Paddle Pop lion????
Not sure on this particular trial, but remember reading last year Stkilda and many other clubs prefered the 2km trial This preference was the reason why the u18 Champs was reduced to a 2km trial as well.I think I saw somewhere that it was 3km...
Hannerbery running the best in the time trail is a massive boost for us in the upcoming season - if he gets back to his best we will be flying with Steele , Crouch and Hannerbery.During the couple of months lockdown between rounds 1 and 2 last year Hannas said he was the "fittest he's ever been" (which is a big call) and as far as I'm aware the hammy he did soon after the resumption (when he probably wasn't ready to back up after just 5 days) was the only soft tissue injury he's had in the last 18+ months, and who knows, that hammy might end up being a blessing in disguise, as they found "funky stuff" in there, during the surgery, and it was a surgery that was said to have been a game-changer for Riewoldt and Marty Lloyd, so maybe it will be for Hannas as well.
He seemed to recover from it extremely well (resumed ahead of schedule before the finals) and now he's won the tt, so the signs are bloody good so far at least.
Would be awesome for him in particular but also us if he got at least a couple more relatively injury-free seasons out of himself.
The return to 20 minute quarters will also help him (and Hill) to really shine.

looks the same , to me
Hannebery starting the season in tip top shape would be a big plus given the degree of difficulty in our draw.
I would have loved to have seen Crouch amongst the front runners, but I’m not sure what his running capacity is.
Allison finishing right on Battles tail bodes really well for a tall draftee. Yet another reason to feel a little bit excited about what we might see from our youngsters this year.
Byrnes also an interesting placing. How did he finish last year?
If you mean the guts (ie not the wing) then Jones would be much higher. Is this the order of centre-square starters in order of choice?
Steele, Crouch, Hannebery, Ross, Gresham, Clark, Dunstan, Billings, Sinclair, Jones, Higgins, Bytel
Feels good seeing Hanners dominate the time trial. Shows his heart is still in it, despite the setbacks. Reckon this year he’ll show the doubters he was worth the money.
I would have it Steele, Crouch, Jones, Hanners, Gresham, Ross, Clark, Higgins, Bytel, Sinclair, Billings, Dunstan. And Higgins, as Scrappy said!
If - huge if - Crouch and Hanners can both play 20 games then we'll be looking seriously good.
In that case it would be fascinating to see what happens with Billings, Gresh, Ross, Higgins.

I'm not sure anyone is gonna be right or wrong on this since half those guys will be rotating through other positions anyway.I would have it Steele, Crouch, Jones, Hanners, Gresham, Ross, Clark, Higgins, Bytel, Sinclair, Billings, Dunstan.
