He played WAFL ressies on the weekend and had 10 touches, not sure when he got injured but the fact he's not getting a game for Peel makes me think he's a fair way back.

If he has/had some sort of injury hopefully that's just a sign they're just getting him back into training? Probably didn't play full minutes for his 10 touches. Could still be a much needed option for later in the year as decent rookie picks are going to dry up.

That was his 2nd highest score... I'm not sure what to do with him, think I'd rather him to Fantasia but he plays Sunday and could be dropped. Should get 70 against the Kangas though you'd think.
I'm hoping Fantasia and Drew destroy Carlton and then I can **** them off. Fantasia has been an ok pick for his price I think.
Finn Macrae to debut this week...

Source: AFL website..
Might let him play the Eagles in perth before getting him lol

Been totally ignoring fantasy for a couple of days, she’s a cruel mistress. Back in the swing of it now and I have a rant all ready to go....

I have decided that this season’s problems come down 100% to Patrick ****ing Dangerfield Dramafield. “He’ll be 100% in the midfield” they said. “He’ll be back to his Brownlow form” they said. “Must have” they said.

Had he not been suspended, I wouldn’t be in nearly such a mess, and I fancy neither would many others. Danger to Caldwell. Ouch. Caldwell to Butters. Ouch again. That F1/F2 spot has been truly cursed and Danger has his grubby paws all over it :drunk:

Anyway, trades at this stage:
Highmore/Clark -> Jones
Butters -> Treloar/B.Crouch via DPP

Treloar or Titch? Both are pretty cheap given what they can do but Treloar is 60k less and looked amazing the last two weeks. Less likely to get tagged given the ridiculous Dogs midfield. But, Titch is Titch.

Yeah we are struggling just to get Valente fit (I think it is OP - came to the club with groin problems). Would be miles (as in at least 6 weeks) off AFL and even that is generous.

As a fan, I'd be happy if he just stayed on the park and played 10+ games in a row for Peel. Maybe a sneaky debut in the later rounds. As a fantasy player, not holding my breath.

Is Nik Cox a must have?

Can't really afford him without double downgrading...

Atm I think 100% yes.
But it means I probably can't get Jones until next week (should be ok though as he'll only go up $20-$40k whereas Cox will go up $50k).

Cox looks like he can hold a defense or forward spot for atleast the next 3-4weeks ... maybe even till byes. So that's worth gold to me atm. While I transition to guns n rooks. If he can make it to byes even better, as I don't seem to have many with that Rnd 13 bye at the minute.

If I was to go Cox I'd probably need to go Jones and bank the cash for a week. Not ideal but better than grabbing a sub 700k that I'll have to upgrade later anyway. Cox is a now or never one I think looking at him.

Yeah he's certainly awkwardly priced. Hindsight may say the ship has already sailed on him this week but I think there could still be value there. One more week and he'll be $400k and the ship will have certainly sailed at that point (for better or worse).

The risk is if he only averages 50-60 from here he was a wasted trade. He'd max out in value around $450k and we'd need to move him on (similar to Clark). 2x trades for $100k gain and a few 50's would be a disaster..

But ignoring his round 1 score of 27 he's been going at an average of 76 since then. If he can keep going at that he's well worth the pickup and would get to $500k over the next month or so (and potentially be a worthy hold for longer either in defense or forward).

Atm I think I'm happy to pay a premium to lock him away for the next month (minimum) in my side.

The only other rookie player who is a "must get" is Lachie Jones at the moment who is likely still getable under $300k next week.

If you were picking between Jones and Cox who would you go? I feel like I’ve already missed Cox at that price (whichever I choose plays at D6) and the 90k saving on Jones gives me better flexibility on getting Fanta/Clark to a Danger/Neale/Treloar next week.

Surely Jones’ JS is similar to Cox’s?

My concern with Jones is job security. Playing halfback, has Bergman potentially playing that role too, Houston, Hartlett etc could all take minutes from them if say a Rocky comes back in and Houston goes back more or whatever. I'm just not convinced Jones won't be dropped like Bergman was. Nik Cox is in Essendon's five best players already.

Good points. Surely they want to get a few games into him though and with all their injuries they might need guys moving around playing different roles 🤷🏿‍♂️ you’re right, Cox is bloody good to watch and is not getting dropped ever

O'Driscoll is one that intrigues me from a fantasy perspective. Any word on how he's tracking?

Umm ... whoever the beat writer for GWS is... you missed Matty Flynn in for old man Mumford in your "Who's in the mix article" you half baked poor excuse for a journalist. GWS Ruck position not even mentioned..how bizarre.View attachment 1101591
That would suggest the writer believes there will be no change in the rucks at GWS this week...

Thinking of going:

Daniel > Sholl
Butters > Treloar

Feels very sideways but gives me a fallen premium in midfield.

Only concern with this is writing Daniel off after one game. With his suspension though I need to find an option in defence somewhere, and it frees up the cash to upgrade Butters and leave me $50k in the bank, so not the worst thing I can think of.

If Kozi or Highmore are back though I might just cull Clark to Idun or someone, play Kozi for the week and get Daniel back next week and still do Butters to Treloar.

What's Meek's job security like now that Treacy is in? Surely they don't persist with all three of Meek, Treacy and Darcy, right?

A long way off. He came to the club injured as well.

Played 2 games in the seniors at least, but on the HBF and barely touched it. The first game he looked miles off the pace and the second I didn't watch. Peel won by 105 so it is possible the ball just never went near him.

If he gets into Peel's midfield and racks it up, I can definitely see him getting an opportunity but I think it is second half of the season stuff. He certainly doesn't look AFL ready. If he stays in the backline then we'd need 4 or 5 injuries (we are definitely capable) before getting a run there.

I already have Merett, Ridley and hind. Is adding Cox too many bombers?

350k bank. Price tags might be pushing it but plan is to turn Clark/Fanta/Drew/Stepho into Titch/Ridley/CJ/F Macrae this week and next.

Drew > Titch
Fantasia > CJ

Clark > Ridley
Stepho > F Macrae

Maybe some DPP action for Ridley instead of Titch this week due to their BE’s. Basically need the one I don’t get not to smash it this week, Clark and Stepho to go well and Macrae a nice 60 on debut but no more.

If Macrae was sub 200k would make it a lot easier.
