$$$$$ lol

Club needs every cent it can get after the past 18 months, even if the stands are empty I'm sure the AFL will be needing to hand over some funds to make this happen.
Club doesn't own the ground, the KP trust with the city council involved somehow. So not sure the club will make much if anything from the extra games, it might help to reduce their costs on game day tho (fixed costs like groundsman salaries etc)

Tickets to this weekend’s MCG games are already on sale. What’s the hold up with Friday night?
Looks like it's only the AFL reserve that's gone on sale at the moment

And maybe it's easier to upscale tickets at the MCG than for KP or Marvel

Last home match we had 20% capacity; if it's going to increase to potentially 85% then it changes how sales/redemption will work

MCG / Marvel games currently selling to 25% capacity and will release more tickets when/if increased capacity is confirmed.

Surely we could at least be confirming ticket details for priority one members?

Wouldn't priority 1 members be reserved seat holders?

If it's at 85% then it's likely we just scan in on Friday night and don't need to redeem a ticket before hand

The hardest thing at the moment is it the club releases info detailing multiple scenarios it'll just get confusing for members - surely it's better waiting for one accurate piece of info and that will create less confusion

I got a text yesterday saying the details with the VIC gov were still being worked out and I'd get an email when finalized
Same

At the moment it's a waiting game - I'm guessing it's going to be more than 20% capacity, so it's waiting for the next step

I know it's kinda annoying, but if it's announced we can sit in our own seats, I'm happy to wait

There are reports it will be limited to 50% capacity which is a pain in the arse as they’ll need to ticket it differently to if it was 85% at reserved seat holders could just scan in.

I assume the hold-up is the club pushing for 85%.

I am well aware of this, more than most. I would expect as the anchor tenant they would be getting a cut of the events, especially if it impacts the club's use of facilities for training and administrative, etc. if the AFL intends to make use of it for such unplanned and last minute games.

How often would we actually use it on weekends after our match has been played?

We may use it for recovery, but there's no reason why we can't still do that and the other teams using the stadium for their matches make use of the away team and VFL rooms

Does anyone else find it frustrating when they release tickets? 10:00am on Thursday, many people are at work, myself included. Why can't they release them 6-7pm? I'm a reserved seat holder, and there is no chance I can log on at work to get a ticket. I just don't have the time or the means. I know it's probably the AFL more so than Geelong, but I'm pretty frustrated that I will miss another game due to a logistical issue. I retained my membership last year, and I've missed games this year due to the time tickets are released.

Its just luck that someone from out household had been home so far.

Yep, and it shouldn't be like that. I know we're facing an unusual situation, but this issue can be easily rectified but just moving it to a more appropriate time. No time will ever suit everyone, but I think it's fair to say that most people work during the day on a weekday. How do the AFL think that we afford memberships?

It's no different to finals tickets, and is a massive hangover from when tickets were sold at the gate or at GPAC during office hours.

No reason in the modern age for this to be the case.

Not suggesting any of this, of course there's plenty of room. I just feel as the primary tenant since after the war, it'd be nice for the club to clip the ticket a little.
