We were super keen on clark in the draft and would have taken him over Duursma had he been there.
I saw Clarke play in the VFL a couple of weeks ago at Williamstown. Cut willy up whenever he had the pill. Is an annoying little shit too, very chirpy. I like him.

Thought Krueger played well too as full back that game, though willy's FF is a bit of a dinosaur.

Well that would've been a shit decision, lucky Geelong saved us from ourselves.

Young and could still improve, etc, but I haven't been that impressed by Clark.

Any Jordan Clark fans up in the house tonight?

So you think Port just interested in Petty and Clarke at the moment? Been hearing we are looking at Billings but the article may have just picked a random RFA player as we apparently have money in the cap.

Also any info on the ladhams trade talk and which clubs are interested. Would think to go after Petty and Clarke we would need to trade in some picks. Ladhams might have some currency.

Clark is a weird one. As a hbf we’ve got a lot of quality players already there and he’s being held back from playing that spot already at Geelong cause he’s a one way player. I love that we’ve got a lot of 2 way defenders on our list to play back. Though if you’re upset at being stagnant at hbf (which at times we are) then he’s a guy who can offer some run.

If you like him as a running mid / wingman he has some skills there but again we’ve got a few players that can do that role already, and arguably better / more upside / have weapons.

If he came with the “hasn’t quite worked out former first rounder discount” of a 3rd round pick then he’s a bargain and makes sense (but I think cats would ask for much more)

But if geelong fancy themselves getting a good price for him then it becomes tricky.

Could easily get behind getting him cause he’s a young player with some upside, but don’t see him as a need, nor as a certain enough upgrade on any first 25 player to want to part with good currency.

As for petty, I loved him predraft where he was a mobile intercepting and offensive / defensive balanced chb who could really get off his opponent.
A few years later and he looks much more like a shutdown key defender in the Trengove mold.
Developing key defender is a big need for us but I’m surprised that port would pick petty as a good fit.

A massive huge no to billings

hes a Very ordinary footballer

yes yes yes to jordan clark.

Why would Geelong get rid of Jordan Clark? Their list is ancient, why would they be giving away young players?

Im a bit 50/50 on billings as a RFA it wont cost draft picks and at 25-26yrs old, hes a good age. I think the rumour was only just a random article about ports salary cap they just linked a decent RFA.
Billings is solid and would be a decent pick up as a free agent, but not really what we require and what we should be spending our salary cap on. He would have to come reasonably cheaply and I think there will be clubs out there that would offer him more than we would and should.
