If we convince Cegs to come to the Lions I say we do it’s unfortunate for Fort but Cegs can play ruck/forward which is what we’re “Supposably“ chasing

I think he's in Mitch Wallis basket now, looks like we put forward a really good offer 3 years ago and he just used it to get better deal with Hawthorn. Good on him but we give these players a wide berth second time around. No wonder there is no news about us chasing him.

certainly C grade work for the lions, yes we have little wriggle room but that doesnt seem to stop other finals teams

need to focus on cream not stocking fillers when you consider where we are in a premiership window , that may mean pushing up the draft and get cream that way and giving up on used cars

We're just on hold. We'll get the player. Other than that, it's been a quiet period around the league. If we get Fort for not much, and manage some pick swaps to ditch our late picks, that's all we're looking for.
Which other final team has made significant improvements to their best 22 this year? And which has made more improvement from trading over the past few seasons than us?
I don't disagree with your overall point, and I'm also critical of irish's post. But who has had more improvement from trading over the past few seasons than us? Well, most teams. Our free agency has been decent. Our trading has been pretty poor in the last couple of years.

I will assume you're referring to collecting Charlie Cameron, Lachie Neale and Linc McCarthy. They were 2017/2018. Last couple of years, we've seen a couple of role players, and then a few pretty poor pick swaps. Not the end of the world, and at the time, most looked OK, but still... I wouldn't say we've been a particularly shrewd trader.

Brisbane seem a bit screw over with that multi team ruck roundabout.
Looking at other clubs. Gold Coast have six delistings or retirements, but just one pick. Is it worth Brisbane bundling 50, 54, and 60 and trying to swap for either of the Gold Coast's future second round selections. Either of these selections would be expected to be in the low to mid 20s whereas Brisbane's future second round selection would be expected to be low to mid 30s. This could be offered to Geelong better value and Brisbane the leverage ask for Fort and pick 41 instead of 55.

Danny Daly up next on Trade Radio
Comfirmed by Daly that Fort will be coming to us, Ceglar to Cats & Lynch to Hawks in the next 24 hours or so, for 2022 and beyond.

What I could figure out of the very little time Daly got

Darcy Fort is our only pick up this year in a trade

We’re taking 3 picks to the draft

Was just about to talk about Ashcroft but phone lines went down
Quite confident both Ashcroft and Fletcher will be in Lions colours in 23

Rayner will be available round 1
Hipwood wants to play round 1 but the club wants to hold him back at least to mid season

Neale no chance to leave this year loves it in Queensland and him and Julie are very happy after having a daughter 3 weeks ago

He was not asked. They commented on it when Daly was not on the call but I don't remember if continuing onto the discussion with Daly itself.
They discussed Ashcroft with Danny about how good he is and they will get the points to get him to Brisbane but they didnt ask Daly.......IS HE COMING as a FS?.
