Rumour and not confirmed:
Treloar wants to move to QLD to be with his wife & newborn. She plays for the Firebirds.

Not sure of his trade value or IF it’s true but I imagine a first round pick would be involved.
Wasn't that the same rumour last year that he might have moved to QLD for family reasons before staying in Victoria and signing with the Bulldogs?

One year too late.

Intriguing. Always seemed a bit odd last year. Any chance you'd give us Dunkley with him?

I'd probably do it though. Didn't you essentially get him for pick 14? Would think his value has dropped a fair bit from a bit of an underwhelming season - but in saying that, you were also paying below value price in a firesale.

Not from us. Suggest he tries the Suns.

Gold Coast can have him if true

Intriguing for sure.

Would have to imagine that even if we were interested, we wouldn’t have been able to afford him $$$ wise. Neale changes that if he does indeed request a trade.

We used Pick 14 in the trade, but on draft points Collingwood literally paid us to take Treloar. So we effectively paid nothing, as they were that desperate to get his salary off their books. There's nothing to say it's true at all, but if it were, I'd hope it's at least smooth this time. What a terrible 12 months that would have been.

Ideally for us we'd try get your future 1st in any trade (assuming we'd need to attach a sweetener with Treloar). With us having Darcy this year and you guys having Ashcroft next year, I'm sure things could get very creative

Since we won’t be after early draft picks, then I am sure we will be creative and reasonable. Recent trades of Adams & Schache appear to show a mutual understanding of trade values.

I was beginning to like you and then you mentioned Schache.

Don't discount Mitch Wallis to the Lions. It's on.

We might need a bit of help filling Hipwood's spot more pressingly though - not too many versatile talls on our list. What's Jayden Post up to?

Do we want Parker even if we keep Lachie? It would cost a list place, which we already feel is difficult to manage.

I think probs not, based on age profile.
Now I wish Zach Merrett didn't resign with Essendon earlier on in the year now as he could have been an very ideal replacement to replace Neale (if moving back) in the short & long term future of the club heading forward :(

If we keep Lachie I doubt we'd be able to fit Parker into our salary cap. The only reason he's come up lately is because we'd be freeing so much money by trading Neale. However if money wasn't an issue I'd absolutely still take Parker.

Just on Parker, while he's a few years older than Neale when he first came to us I think it's a pretty similar situation. Largely underrated cause he plays in Sydney and has had other stars around him most of his career but he is a genuine A-grader and premiership player.

I always take note of what a team's supporters think of a player to gauge what he is really like. The impression I get is that many Bombers supporters don't rate Merrett that highly, largely I think because of his poor disposal and decision making. Parker on the other hand seems to be more highly regarded by his own supporters. But I worry that Parker is another slowish midfielder, albeit with more tricks than most, and what we need more than ever is some speed.

Only 7 months older matt.

Lachie Neale- DOB 24th May 1993.
Luke Parker- DOB 25th October 1992.

Parker very durable as well, had a quick squiz at footywire and he has hardly missed a game over the last 7 years.

Kicked the 3rd most goals of any midfielders over the past 3 years behind Bont and Danger

Yeah what I meant was when Neale first came to us a couple years ago he was 26 compared to Parker's 29 now. Would still take him without a doubt.

Carlton
In: Cerra.
Out: Pick 6, SPS.

Fremantle
In: Neale, Pick 47, Future 1st.
Out: Cerra, Future 2nd.

Brisbane
Out: Neale, Pick 47, Future 1st.
In: Pick 6, SPS, Future 2nd.

Genuinely think Fages could get the best out of SPS. Lions fan growing up.

Freo should back themselves in to improve next year. Especially if they grab Neale.
This is a very bad deal for us and I'm dumbfounded as to why others are calling it fair. Neale is worth pick 6 and a future 2nd on his own. You're suggesting we trade our future first away for peanuts.

Personally, I thought it was around the mark. Did suggest in a post above that we could probably get rid of the future pick swap.
