We desperately need him to develop a more aggressive temperament and second/third efforts to be a chance IMO. Of course if that does happen, we'll have a player on our hands, but every player has an 'if' hanging over their head.
Jeka has been prodded by about every coach on our panel.

I'm sure it's the way we're aiming to play even with Lewis. Moving it forward fast and purposely to give all our forwards the best chance.
Pretty sure every club these days is trying to move the ball forward aggressively and quickly. Whether we can consistently execute it outside of training will be interesting.

Forward mix without Lewis isn't that complicated, is it? Kosi + resting ruck as targets. One of Serong or Greene as a third marking option. Ramma an outside chance if he does well in preseason ala Kosi a couple years ago.

Some combo of Wingard, Moore, Breust, Brockman, Butler, CMac running with them.

Don't need a defender as a stop gap yet.

Gunston's a third tall, though. Emerson Jeka is 198cm and 96kg. You should expect someone with his dimensions to use his body to his advantage.
Height doesn't matter so much as skillset. Look at Buddy and Nash.

This is a good chat with Lachie Bramble.
A couple of things of note is that his role is not to be as defensive, and needs to be more attacking despite being on the half backline.

Mentions that frenchy has really impressed all the players and coaches in the match sim and that Worps has been dominant in the middle.

He also made mention that Mitch Lewis looks like he’s not even injured and is in good spirits, but will be spending some time in the coaches box working with the forwards, so he may have given away that they are going to be taking it pretty slow with his rehab.

So who is franchise and how do you think match swim form translates into games of football? 🤪

The conviction from me is the coaches actions and just experience of knowing that good coaches do not change their plans helter skelter they are generally patient in a course of action. Lewis's injury is a minor inconvenience in the scheme of things. We stay the course and its steady as she goes with the ship. Everyone knows their roles and ambitions. Everyone trying to do the the best they can to achieve the team goals as a group. To be honest i wouldnt care if i had a sabbatical enforced or not
Yeah good reply buddy. Oh well it's gonna be a fascinating season ..i can't wait.

If it's a predictive text error, it's a good one.

Whoever it is, it should become his Bigfooty nickname...

EDIT: So, Cam McKenzie is now "Franchise"

Meek, absolute weapon up fwd 🔐

Hey folks. I'm trying to find a club to watch train and take some photos tomorrow. Can someone please help me with whether Hawks will be training and where they will be?

Do you want a permanent social media gig at a powerhouse AFL club?

PS. They are in Morwell.

I'm excited with these match ups. Practicing against two top four teams from last year is better than dancing with your sister or drawing North plus another. Our boys should remember to take their autograph books to get signed.

Win, lose or draw there should be "learnings".

Brambles comments about Lewis certainly sounded like he was referring to a player who has done an ACL and will miss the entire season.

But that's the only thing so far suggesting that. The club communication plus the videos we saw seem closer to a more immediate injury and not a long term one.

Did not get that vibe at all.
Could be Lewis is in coaches box for scratch match, practice match and first round 2 weeks later .Then will be ready to go.

Literally all he said was 'he's in high spirits. He'll spend time in the coaches box like guys did last year'. The guys who most recently spent time in the coaches box that I can recall were James Sicily and Will Day when they had season ending injuries.

It was the omission of certain words and phrases that made it sound more absolute. He didn't say 'until he's right to go' or 'lucky to have avoided a major injury'.
