The only downside to the Poms going out is now the cheese eating surrender monkeys are almost certainties to win the thing. Morocco have no chance of beating France in the semis and I don't think either of Argentina or Croatia have enough to beat France.

Pitches with pace and bounce keep the bat and the ball in the game. Fast outfield too. Poor bowling gets spanked but there are wickets if you bowl well.

Ship the WACA dirt (the stuff they used in the 70s-90s) around the country. Import the stuff from that pitch O'Keefe took 14 wickets on in India for the SCG. Also leave shedloads of grass on the Gabba and Hobart (especially) like they used to in the shield. Done.
what's frustrating is the waca's been a very bowler friendly pitch this season in all the domestic stuff

Injuries certainly aren't going to help Morocco but they're a hard team to break down and have massive crowd support. France will probably win but I don't agree that Morocco have no chance

It'll be Argentina vs France in the final. The only two teams that beat us the whole tournament.

Australia clearly the third best country.

I actually think it will be Croatia. They way they have played (especially the way they have defended) they should be too good for Argentina. After the way they carried on after the Netherlands game, I hope the Argies get absolutely destroyed.

OK so I might have gone a bit overboard with Head as I’ve not watched an overseas series in a while but Scotty Boland’s 21 Test wickets at less than 10 runs a wicket is pretty remarkable. If he was born in NSW he’d be a chance to become a Test regular at this point.

Until the Ashes last year he was behind Neser and Richardson for an opportunity and rightly so. He’s come good the last few years and was no where near the Australian team before that.

All of Boland, Neser and Richardson have performed well against test batting line ups that are as about as bad as you’ll see. Let’s see how they go against India or South Africa.

Fair dinkum all of Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins have performed at an elite level for 7-8 years. They’re absolute guns whether they’re from New South Wales or not. Tall quicks that bowl 140+ don’t grow on trees. We’re so lucky to have three at the same time tbh.

A-League selling grand finals to Sydney is not how you capitalise on Socceroo success. Universal condemnation.

No-one is supporting this. The universal backlash by everyone is great

But at least A-League clubs based in Sydney or indeed NSW, plus the majority of their fans are happy to acknowledge it's unfair, whereas with Aussie rules the Victorian clubs and their supporters go suspiciously quiet when the MCG/Grand Final deal gets mentioned "bEcAuSe tRaDiTiOn"

I bet the A-League looked towards the AFL and MCG as a solid business model as well. The grand final being hosted by the top seeded team was one of the last great things the league had going for it, in all honesty. Instead of using the world cup as a springboard for grassroots and promoting the game from the ground up, they've shot themselves in the foot(ball) big time and increased the divide between the grassroots and the top tier. Amateur hour

I wouldn't consider South Africa's batting lineup a good one. They only have one batsman (Dean Elger, #18) in the Top 30 of the ICC Test Batting Rankings. We have four of the Top 13. Temba Bavuma is ranked #32, with the next best being Rassie van der Dussen at #48. Their bowling is their strength.

Yep our batters will be on notice that’s for sure

100% agree! Could not believe how oblivious the A-League are making this decision. They want a proper grass-roots following they need to keep the local top team getting a home GF
