So we have two more spots? Does that include Cat B? So if we go for Oskar Baker with one pick we take in SSP or hold for mid season? Would like to see us take Phillips or Teal but does it look like we won’t take anyone tomorrow?

Plus there are a few on the list I'd prefer we had kids in their place instead....

Passed, to take them to the SSP period (aka sign a player that trains with us over the pre-season) or mid-year draft, and save a bit on the salary cap.

It's the sensible thing to do, if you're not drafting a teenager who the pre-season development would be beneficial

The other factor is that if we took another player in the draft they're listed for 2 years where rookies and SSP signings are one so if we don't really rate the talent available it's a more flexible choice.

Would make too much sense. Also reckon Phillips will be gone before our pick.

Really like all three selections.

Busslinger is very exciting. Love Clarke's highlights and the energy and smarts he'll bring and even Gallagher is very impressive. Nailed it Dogs.

So we were happy to trade the farm to try and get pick 4, but timid in giving up little to move up for Cowan?

Either we are lame, or just didn't have him high on our boards. Boo! Guess we can find a 5 foot tall winger that plays one way in this draft instead. Or use one of our excess ball butchering inside mids to man the wings.

From the small highlight package I saw of Cowan he was reasonably fast and a nice kicking technique… but couldn’t hit the side of a barn let alone a target. Pass for me

Gallagher is consistent, and high scoreboard impact. Finishing just means he is not highly accurate, so fits into the Dogs mantra up front. He is a good ball user, which is a big tick for me.

I think this draft pretty much confirms Baker will be a definite pick for us. Given we have not drafted a winger, and that is where he plays

How many rookie picks will we take? One or two?

One rookie pick to leave the other for Baker as the SSP prior to the season beginning.

I’m happy with all the selections so far but I’ll be thoroughly disappointed if we end up with Baker & Sullivan to round out the list.

I can live with Baker as we probably don’t have any pure wing options on the team but Sullivan would be a downright ridiculous decision. He would bring absolutely zero to the list that we don’t already have.

Tipping were looking at Gallagher as a wingman

I was more thinking a long term replacement for Duryea as he isn't far from done. And Gallagher has great attributes to be that lockdown small defender that can be creative going the other way

Don't really want to make it a thing and definitely not a hill I care to die on but I think if a story like this had come out about Dusty or even a young EJ we'd all be laughing it up rather than calling him a tossbag.

Now the obvious counter is that they could back it up on field. Hopefully so can the kid.
