Herald Sun mock has us taking Philippou and George.
Would be pretty wrapped with that
I'd be over the moon. I wouldn't be upset if we pulled the trigger on George at 11, that juicy ACL discount for a genuine talent would be welcome.
Interesting the Hun has clubs rating Phillipou at 10-15. I'm still not convinced he gets through the top 10 but would love it if true.

After taking Philipou…. And then double dipping on George…. How are we going to fit two more centre square players into our team? That is they’re eventual slot…. I guess Libba will eventually retire…. But still.
By the time they get there - Libba & Treloar will be retired, Macrae potentially getting managed, there will be plenty of time.
George projects more of a forward who can pinch hit in the middle to draft watchers anyway.

Phillipou likely to start out as a forward too, especially in a side like ours.

I guess it only takes 2 clubs picking Busslinger and Hollands for it to happen (or another awesome slider)...

Kinda sucks getting Phillipou in their mock draft though...makes me believe we might...😭

He'll probably be available and we pick someone we haven't even talked about lol

I don’t think we need a medium forward. We have JUH, Naughton, Lobb & Bruce. JUH until he builds his strength, is a medium forward. Weightman is also more a medium forward too.
IF we are taking a forward, I would want a pressure small as a higher priority.

The counter to this as that IF George gets his mobility and power back, he is a top 5 pick and thus getting him in the second round is a steal. So, I guess we could take 2 mid/forwards…. It’s just we aren’t improving our chances for next year….

Medium forwards don’t work in our system. They certainly don’t last anyway.

Gowers, Hannan, Wallis, even Schache have all been pretty unsuccessful (for a long duration of time).

I'd like to not have Vandermeer in the forward line. Lobb, Naughton, JUH, Flea are locks, JJ, West, and a resting mid should spend some time there, but I'd like to get a small pressure type in there.
I'd like it if West was no longer viewed as a forward. He should be that "resting mid" and a real pressure forward take his spot. Really hoping we can grab Clarke or Jones with Pick 21

We're going to go best available, and by the time George is ready to play Marra will demand a tall defender - I don't think we're going to think in such short term timeframes. We're certainly not drafting for 2023 (and I'd be annoyed if we were).
George plays nothing like Marra though, nor Weightman.

Dunkley just won the B&F spending half his time forward (as a medium).
I'm all for adding the best players we can.

Here I was hoping for a pressure forward…. sigh.

It’s like the missing piece, that and a wingman.

George sounds like a Zac Bailey type. You can’t have enough of that kind of player.

I posted a while ago the small forwards (just from WA) who went late int he draft.
Like rucks, it's one position where good ones don't necessarily need to come from the pointy end of the draft.

The members video posted a couple of days ago was pretty adamant about aiming for quality and taking the best talent available with our picks.
