What and Fyfe hasn’t

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app
Fyfe is literally one of the all time greats of the sport. A shitty tribunal decision in 2014 denied him being a 3 time Brownlow medalist.
Weird example to use to make your point.
We have overpaid literally dozens of spuds over the years and Fyfe certainly isn’t one of them.

Don’t have to spend the cash this year if we cant get someone we want but we’ll have cash to burn for a quality forward the next two years. Just need to convince them to come, it’s the main reason I want us to protect that future 1st, to keep options open.
Realistically are the odds lower than 10% our club has a chance at Harry Mckay? I'd assume if he's not staying at Carlton he'd at least be staying in Victoria. He's on the top of my dream list. Would complement Amiss and be an upgrade on Tabs if he's close to retirement.

I’d think there is no chance of McKay coming here short of us paying him an amount of money that would gut the list completely

So my little update that I do, taking in account only the most recent rumours with actual substantial reports.

IN: Jackson, Sharp, Corbett
OUT: Logue, Acres, Tucker, Meek, Mundy, Blakley, Western

Getting McKay as a FA after Carlton take Cerra's wage would be amazeballs, but agree with the sentiment that the number we'd have to offer would be ridiculous. Even if we were Vic based the odds would be staggeringly low. Reckon he's just milking an extra 200k out of Carlton.
Personally I would love us to help McKay do that milking.

HOW THE LOBB DEAL COULD GET DONE

Could Fremantle trading Rory Lobb to the Western Bulldogs for pick 29 unlock the Luke Jackson deal?

That is what he will be hoping as he remains in Melbourne awaiting movement on a trade the Dockers have said won’t happen.

Melbourne says it wants two first-rounders and a second-rounder or two picks within 10 (including one within the first seven picks) for Jackson.

But if the Dockers can’t find those early top-10 picks they could trade their first-rounder, future first-rounder and secure 29 from the Dogs for Lobb.

That deal will go down to the wire but it would also allow the Dockers to retain other picks to offer up to the Suns for Jeremy Sharp, who they are keen to acquire.

Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin made clear on RSN Radio on Wednesday the Demons will play hard ball on Jackson.

If Jackson goes for 2 firsts and a second then i hope we legit walk away.

All sounds reasonable from Melbourne's POV. The question I want Bell to have at the front of his mind is about what the walk away trade would be for Melbourne? Would they knock back the 2 first rounders we actually have available and send him to WC in the PSD?

throwing up dumb and dumber GIF

Losing Jackson in the PSD is multiple times worse for Melbourne than us losing Logue in the PSD.

Once Jackson officially nominates Fremantle, Melbourne are going to try and get whatever they can but they won't be giving him away for nothing.

The narrative has gone from two top ten picks, to now conceding that it will be two firsts outside the top ten.

Imagine where it will be in a week

Would be the highest trade price since Chris Judd and dwarf the price Geelong paid for Jeremy Carmeron
Id say Jackson was worth 2 firsts and a Second maybe last year. But this year he hasnt been as good as we all would have thought. Future first must be kept at all costs to try and entice either Naughton or someone like Logan Mcdonald.
