What sort of player do you see him as?

Is he better than Ladhams as a ruck or a forward or both in your opinion?
I would say he could easily be better at both.
Definitely a better mark and Kick his ruck work needs development he’s more your tall and mobile type and really that’s the sort clubs want.
Your old fashion tap and don’t do much else died out long ago.
Definitely worth the pick plus he’s a country kid and they always come with a bit of mongrel and we need that badly.

I bet each of these clubs included giving the player the best opportunity to get picked up in the mid season draft as part of their pitch to sign them.

LOL. The SANFL still clinging to the belief that 'Second best competition after AFL (narrator: Not the second best)' means anything. They are a feeder competition with delusions of still being anything more. If they want less AFL interference then get rid of all underage leagues from the SANFL and let the AFL run it like Vic TAC. No players in the SANFL under 19. They'd still get mid-season picks and the occasional older draftee, but the year to year changes in sides due to the AFL would be much less.

Of course they won't give up the Juniors, even though they've done an abysmal job running them since Port hasn't had a zone. The number of draftees (especially first round and KPP's) for SA continue to be shit on a per population basis compared to Vic and WA, as a traditional football state. The SANFL love to moan about the AFL, but stick their hands in the way of the AFL clubs at every chance. The SANFL shouldn't have anything to do with Juniors or more importantly the SMA. Or at worst it should be 10 SMA seats, 5 for cricket, 2 for Port, 2 for Adelaide and 1 for the SANFL. Though they don't deserve even that and it should be 4 cricket, 2 Port, 2 Adelaide.

The SANFL would be better off becoming an elite U23 comp.

It would get lots of AFL watchers interested, especially with the MSD in play.

Yeah he's had it too good for too long IMO
It's not ideal him being the only fit ruckman on the list right now. I think he would benefit from having some pressure on him to maintain his spot, at the moment he is picked no matter what.

He has been okay, his ruckwork pretty good but he is barely touching the ball around the ground. He has been okay, but I've been hoping to see a bit more from him now that he has had a few games under the belt. The smashing we copped in the centre square against Essendon was a concern for me.

Most of those 5 will be gone by the first 25 picks. Seing as we will be either pick 17 or 18 according to the club hierarchy, that becomes problematic!

Barnett has intrigued me the most - some people on the main board saying he runs like a midfielder, is very good below the knees, and has the skillset to hold down a KPP spot at either end of the field, as well as being a decent ruck too.

Still think SA should have at least 1 and eventually 2 teams in the Vic u18s league. So our juniors can play against the best juniors every week...
SA should revamp their competition entirely.

We are going to get much worse before there is any improvement.

Pick 17 ?
Our first pick (not allowing for F/S) is going to be around 8-10
