Completion percentage isnt all that especially when the QBs are dinking and dunking.

Scheme matters also, with defenses forced to cover Jackson as a runner so much, and all those intricate moving parts at the snap, options and pulling blockers multiple directions.

When the defense has to invest resources so heavily to run, pass, and option qb run, it puts a lot of players in one on one matchups and broken coverages/assignments.

If you put Lamar in a pass heavy pocket passing offense like the Bucs, could he manage? Can he get the ball to his WRs at a consistently high rate vertically and not rely on a TE over the middle?

I'm not big on stats, the eye test instead. Allen can fling the ball around deep and to the boundaries very accurately. Jackson not as sharp.

I'll always consider an immobile QB who has only his arm, his acumen and field vision, thrust into a vertical offense, and defenses all out trying to stop him, a far greater measure of a QBs ability than a mobile QB put in a schematically complex offense that stresses defenses.

Eg, Marino is king.

Jackson is definitely getting better, but I don't think he's better than Allen, stats be damned, and wouldn't be able to perform in a multitude of different offenses as well as Allen would.

Still have Jackson in the same tier as I had him a few days ago.... pending further development.

Lamar causes defensive coordinators to have to change their defence because he can run…. and you say this is a negative. This makes them have to change their preferred game plan, just to combat him. No other current QB requires a complete change in approach.

In the last few years, Drops by Hollywood haven’t helped Lamar. Hollywood dropped more long TD last year than he caught. I am only counting ones that he got both hands too, he probably dropped about 2/3 of these deep catchable balls. Gladly we turned him into a much needed Center.

Lamar is still young and a work in progress but he is much better than 2019. His play this year will be better than his MVP year, IF the injury bug has left Baltimore. I am not sure IF that will lead to more regular season wins (he has the highest win% of current QBs) or just more postseason ones (hopefully).

Marino is the GOAT. No one is disputing that, well I am not anyway.

The scheme is the star. Even Huntley looked great last season. Lamar is by far more talented and in command than Huntley, and Jackson has to be very very good for it to work so well, but the scheme itself still is the thing that tears defenses apart.

Lamar has greatly developed since his rookie season as a passer, and he has more ceiling to achieve. But he's also still inconsistent, from drive to drive, game to game. Not yet at a peak plateau. He's still erratic with deep ball accuracy. He'll make some beastly deep throws pinpoint accuracy, anticipation, awareness of things like a receivers stem and field positioning, etc. But then he'll miss as often too. To me, it's like he has such a great quick whipping wrist flick release that at times he gets "lazy" and doesn't use full mechanics. Inaccuracy is often the fault of arm throws.

As I asked before....could he be a Buccaneers drop-back pass-centric pocket-passing QB hitting wide receivers along the boundaries? Could he maintain a base level of elite play being such a QB without all the smoke and mirrors of the Ravens offensive scheme? He CAN, but he hasn't yet got there. He's still developing, and it'll be scary if/when he can be predominantly a passer who occasionally takes off like an Aaron Rodgers. Better receivers he also needs.

Another point....and it's not so much against Lamar as it is against the scheme, but the scheme was implemented to favor Lamar and his limitations at the time....but M.Brown did want out because it was holding him back as a receiver, chasing dollars, stats, accolades.

Who's a better passer out of college, and right now? Murray or Jackson? Murray was far better and why he was able to command a pass-heavy offense with Kingsbury. Murray is cringe, and Jackson is far more likeable, but he's not yet a more consummate passer than Murray is right now, not yet, so he can't be on a higher tier (for me).

So apparently because the Rams "own" the international rights for Australia, ESPN have a 30 min show every week called Rams360. Starting nextweek.

So yeah, If ESPN are forced to the Rams games every week im going to be pissed. It would be like the Hayne s**t again. Which one of you campaigners is going to be tiger nova?
Rams 360 too be hostess by Robbo & Gerrard?

We’ve got 15 in
Last chance everyone!

Survivor/Tontine comp - will run it within this thread, using Google Forms.

List of rules:

Rule #1: You have to pick one winner each week. You must tip before TNF kick-off, but for this week I will allow until Sunday kick-off.

Rule #2: No one can pick in the game with the greatest line head start each week, according to Sportsbet website. (if there are 2 games with the same biggest line then this rule is ignored).

Rule #3: You cannot pick the same team over a rolling 4-week period. i.e. if you pick Tampa Bay in Week 2, you can’t pick them again until Week 6.

Rule #4: You can gain an immunity round if you elect to pick an underdog (as per the Sportsbet website, at the time you make the tip) and they win. This means you get an extra life. You can earn a maximum of one immunity round in the competition. NB: As per Rule #1, you must tip before first kick-off!

Rule #5: If you forget to submit a tip before first kick-off, you get the team with the greatest head start (i.e. the team least likely to win).

Last player standing wins!

MAKE YOUR TIPS HERE!

Might as well add....

Most of Jackson's throws are to TEs, and/or across the middle and/or to the flats. He still isn't fully confident or dependable throwing predominantly (keyword) outside the numbers to receivers.

He's also gotta learn to throw with more touch/trajectory. Which requires that full body mechanics always on. You can't excel at that with arm throws and whipping wrist flicks. That's more in line with hard flat zipped throws short/medium. It's also what hindered Kaepernick.

Brian Robinson RB WAS

Robinson (knee) has a 'realistic' chance to return to the field Week 5, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Robinson will need to miss a minimum of four games due to his placement on the reserve/non-football injury list, but it appears that the rookie third-rounder may not miss much more time than that. In the meantime, Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic will headline Washington's backfield while Jonathan Williams handles the No. 3 role. Robinson has reportedly already shed his crutches, and the Commanders expect him to resume conditioning work in the upcoming week.

F**k i hope my team isnt going to be one of the teams who dont show up week 1. Because every year there are a couple of teams who just shit the bed week 1.

Not really tired at the moment. Might sleep for a bit and get up around 4am at which time I can hopefully fling some shit to friends who follow the 49ers, Steelers and New England. Might as well do it whilst Dallas are undefeated eh.

Nervous moment then when the link for Panthers vs Browns wasn't working, all good now thankfully...I really didnt want to throw the laptop at this time of morning.

Will wait to do that AFTER the game if we lose :tearsofjoy:
