Couple of things here

I wouldn't rate Gov and Newnes hard, but nor soft

Under the Teague gameplan our tackle numbers were poor across the board

Cripps averages in 2020/21 are the lowest of his career, Ed's 2021 lowest career average, JSOS 2020/21 lowest career average. These are guys that we never question their hardness

Can't see that trend continuing under Voss

On another note, apart from the Demons last year, most flag winning sides rate mid table for tackles, so I think it's more about the relentless pressure of the whole team

Agree totally With your points. I really stuffed up my post and didn’t make it clear at all.

Agree Newnes and McGovern are not soft or hard. And like you expecting Voss to improve our hardness, tackles and competitiveness across the board.

I was referencing the ‘taking the piss’ bit about both those players In my post above. I believe both have to some degree. I can see from 2 replies since that it is not a popular opinion…it is just what I believe about their characters.

Let’s hope he has had a big preseason and the body is finally right. This is his 5 year in the system and he was drafted at a pick 30. For us to continue to go forward he needs to press his case and break into the side either as a ruckman or fwd/ruck.
If Mitch does play down backline
Could Tom break into the side as a good third tall forward ?

Quick question for you, is Kemp best 22 for you in 2022?
He's a definite for me as he is so versatile and talented - Voss would be keen to get games into Kemp

Even if not another gear physically, though you’d expect he gets stronger with more time in the system, I’m pretty confident he’ll improve his decision making and the mental side of his game… not that it’s particularly poor to begin with.

Maybe it’s not another gear, but he’s only just shifted into top and has a stack more to go before he’s redlining…
