I see Brodie kemp as a mid forward type.
Throughout the u18 national championships he played his first game down back , then moved into the middle/rotating forward and was getting compared to Josh Kennedy from Sydney swans. He finished the championships in the u18 All Australian team as a full forward. And yet we draft him and play him BP. The kid has vertalisty but I feel like his getting wasted playing in the backline.

Thought he pretty much played all his junior footy as a defender up until the final year where he got switched around a bit because of his versatility, until he did his knee half way through the season.

See him long term as a midfielder as well, coming off an ACL during the final draft year, then a ankle syndesmosis during the preseason possibly played a big part in easing him back down as a defender…

Also needs to build up the endurance, he has missed a fair chunk of footy over the past few seasons, there’s also Austin’s comments that he thinks he’s best position for the moment is as a defender…

Things might take a different direction with how well he progresses along with where the new coaching staff see him being most influential for the team…

Seems very much in the mould of Kouta.

A bit taller.

We have very few like him, with that seeming quality and athleticism, on our list. Curnow the junior maybe (but he's now on cotton wool duties).

Kouta went ok playing as a utility.

Certainly does in many ways…
Kouta 191cm Kemp 193cm

Very similar in athletic abilities although Kouta has him covered in the endurance department early days…

He’s overall attributes would be perfectly suited to a role on the wing, then eventually rotating through the midfield…

Charlie C's gotta be in that mix.

He was touted as the best (most likely) player in the competition 2-3 years ago...

I think plowman is best suited to the third tall defender position. Playing on the medium sized forwards or young developing talls who shouldn’t dominant him with his experience.
Leave the Charlie Cameron’s and Tom Papley to Adam saad and Zac Williams. Against teams with quality small forwards saad or Williams will have to sacrifice there rebound game for that matchup. Plowman just does not have the speed to keep up on the explosive forwards.

I think the opposite

Plow never really gets a toweling by small forwards, moreso those 3rd talls with explosive leads.

The number 1 factor that will help this weakness is a better defensive team structure

2017 for Gold Coast he played 22 games 410 disposals for the year 24 goals. He is on a lot of money same as McGovern a pass mark would be to do very similar or more throughout season 2022. I think he will play forward would like to see him push up to a wing and through the centre at different stages

If he's playing mostly forward, the expectation should be 30+ goals a season.

50 would see us in a granny!

In four months he will have missed 3 full seasons of footy ... long long long way back .. if you think he is going to be a one two punch with Weiters ... yeah nah .. (I know you said in an ideal world).

The kid has to find match fitness and get through a few games to really see if he is not made of glass. History so far, is his body is not up to the rigours of AFL football, and technically will only get more so as his body continues to age.

Very sceptical on his future moving forward. However, the club obviously have a fair bit of faith that Caleb can football otherwise they would not have persisted with him thus far.

He missed a lot of junior football as well - he’s hardly played football in the past 8 years.
