SPS is a nothing pick at that price. You would be better off going someone like DPP Coleman. Then Curnow to a rookie and Rowell to a premo mid/fwd Duncan/Treloar type

I had Coleman in my previous versions, and I might yet end up with him in my team.

But I think SPS has a fair bit of upside. He's averaged in the 80s in the past and he's looking at a midfield role at his new club. So I don't see him as a nothing pick. I think he has a chance to be a keeper. And Curnow is a bargain at his price. And there's no way I'm not starting Rowell, he was eased through the back half of last season, he'll be back to the version of himself that picked up 9 Brownlow votes in his first four games.

Treloar's not a bad shout though, with the news about Bailey Smith. Will only help Adam. Bit injury prone though

4.0...

Preuss at R2 gets me an extra SP mid - Titch. Think I have half of the top ten mids come the end of the season. Plenty of captaincy options.

I'm pretty settled with my first five defenders, I can't see myself changing those unless SPS's preseason form or role are particularly off-putting.

Charlie Curnow is priced at 40. He went 77.4 over 20 games in his third year, as a forward in a terrible team. If he avoids injury I see him averaging at least 80 and making 200k. F6 keeper isn't out of the question, more likely it will cost 100-150k to upgrade him to a top 6 forward.

12 keepers, and then I see Rowell, Cogs and SPS as all having chances of proving to be keepable, with Preuss and Curnow as stepping stones that won't cost much to upgrade to SPs
Love that team, I'll definitely be looking at something similar but without SPS, I just don't rate him as a footballer and that should always be the first question asked

Hesitant on locking Curnow in, but if fit he will pay every game.

Dunno if 80+ is on the cards, but can see him averaging similar to Daniher next year and being a value pick until it’s time to upgrade.

Berry and Shiel look like good gets in the midfield. Bit of a question mark on Shiel on the basis of injury the past couple of years, but generally averages between 95-100. Could be a nice pick.

Loving the mid rookies! Will probably just load up here and set and forget everywhere else.

Generally new recruits to West Coast always struggle to adapt to Simpsons bullshit and don't make much of an impact for a season or two.

Kelly, Redden, Jetta, Witherden.

SPS can eat chode.

Kelly seemed to go backwards at the eagles .

Telly played awesome for us as a high half forward, into the mids .

SPS is a huge trap.

West Coast will envisage him being part of the 22, but it’s a steep learning curve coming in to a high performance club who play very different to his old side (eg better).

I expect him to spend plenty of time at WAFL level honing his craft. I think he can play midfield, but his tank was a major issue at the Blues and he’d also coast and sit on the outside waiting to receive which was endlessly frustrating as a Carlton supporter.

No doubt he’s tearing it up at training. I watched him dominate a couple of intra-club matches at the Blues, but Home & Away games are very different.

Yeah not wrong. It's the scoreboard impact which isn't there any more which is the real killer. Hopefully they can get him on the outside more.

2018 - 24 Goals (cats)
2019 - 24 goals (cats)
2020.- 5 goals (wce)
2021 - 6 goals (wce)

2020 he was pretty lacklustre. Not awful, but he went backwards overall. Definitely not A grade material, which is annoying considering what we paid for him.

2021 he was better, would've been leading our B&F with Nicnat before he got injured mid year probably.

Neither of his two seasons has he reached the heights of his debut year at the cats though. Let alone his AA season of 2019.

really happy with this version. There are only 2 big risks, Preuss and Jackson. Jackson however does offset some of the Preuss risk with the DPP. Preuss if no.1 ruck will make 200k, i have no doubt about that.

Backline is standard, Gull, Norf Gull and Crisp will be in nearly every iteration of my team. Ridley is the only one outside of them i like but if we get def rookies i'll go to 3 premos 3 rooks or 2 rooks and Kiddy Coleman.

Midfield is stacked, Steele and Oliver teased me all this year as well as touk but you can't have them all. Tracc will be a very big POD and i love him, good VC option with Demons having a lot of early games and his potential to go crazy.

Darcy is the best ruck IMO and will go past Gawn and Grundy in a SC perspective, Gawn will still be the best ruck and will likely end up my R2 and i touched on Preuss before

Forward line is tough past Dunkley and Coniglio, Butters if injury free is a good shout and Jackson is there to average 80-85 and give me flexibility which is super important with Preuss in the rucks.

Happy to be the only silly kent with SPS in his team.

I think he'll scoff down Simmo's sh1t by the spoonful, after putting up with Teague's.

Plenty of blokes to go sideways to if he isn't working out

I got caught last season with the "Duggan new role in the midfield" pre-season hype..... he was well priced as well, and cost me a trade, as did Hunter-Clark with his hype .......Lesson: don't select a player till he has some runs on the board at a non-rookie price

Yes SPS may flourish at WC .....but we have no idea what his role will be, and he has no SC worthy history

Hately was another player expected to flourish at the Crows .... 🤣

My suggestion is have him as a "watch" .....you can always trade him in after his 1st price increase

I don't hate it, just downgrade Shiel to a rookie and upgrade Marshall imo. I don't like Treloar but can see why others have him.
But, but, but - Shiel, Treloar and Marshall were going to be my Taranto/Cripps players for the season…

My meltometers, if you will.

They COULD pay off, but they most likely won’t, then I could come on here and melt about it on my way to another top 15k finish :$

Yeah you've gotta have somebody who will interest you and make you melt or feel like a ****ing king when they ton up. Otherwise the game is boring

Hundred percent, Frosty, hundred percent.

For all three of the aforementioned players to make it next season is highly improbable, like, less than 15%, but, and it’s a big but (giggidy) if they do it will give me big chol long time.

If not, Judd_Magic and I will trade our way to glory

Really happy rn, I'm just gonna make different versions for different rookies. Like if we don't have def rooks or forward rooks and shit like that.

Shiel = small chol vibes
I’ve always remained steadfast in not picking campaigners with punchable heads but this season I could not help myself. Sicily, Shiel, Treloar and Mitchell will all find themselves in and out of the line-up in the coming months.

Might switch Shiel for J Berry and Marshall for Darcy.
