We should but I understand the OP, for the past decade, whenever we go on a run or find a game we should win, we absolutely shit the bed.

See games against the suns, Adelaide, north, Collingwood (last year), Essendon in 2016...

I reckon we've started to beat that lazy attitude but the club has a lot of trust to make up.

Yeah but also, if you go back through history, top teams will always lose a game here or there to a lesser side.

Melbourne lost to Adelaide last year.

Obviously don't want to be losing too many of them, but I see the whole 'if we are any good we'll win easily' thing thrown around a fair bit. Saw it a fair bit in the Hawthorn preview thread and now here...we should win, but if we lose this game, it doesn't necessary mean we're not a good side and can't make top 4.

If we are any good we win this and comfortably.
Even the best teams lose games they shouldn't on occasion.
Whilst I agree with the sentiment, a loss doesn't necessarily mean we aren't as good as we've seemed so far.
We also have guys like Cerra, Hewett and Young who aren't familiar with the group and everyone is still learning Voss' system, so there WILL be hiccups, as much as we want the good times to keep rolling.
The problem is, there's just no knowing when those hiccups will come.

stop touk and we win comfortably. Hewett can do it.
Back Cripps to go head to head with Rowell and win (even a break even here is fine) and Hewett to do a number on Touk. Pitto if he plays can break even with Witts.
Then we still have Walsh, Kennedy and Cerra to run amok. I don't even have a clue how the fwd and back match ups look, but a dominant midfield will negate most of that.

Looks like Hewett, Saad, Martin and LOB from that extended bench. Maybe Newnes as the sub, keep Dow playing full VFL games.

Exactly what I’ve got, and agree with keeping Dow playing full games in the VFL.

Having gone in with Harry-Charlie-TDK-JSOS up front, really need to see some improvement from last week on how the ball goes in plus the leading patterns of the forwards. If we keep kicking it shallow to allow the rebound, we’ll prob lose.

Carlton by 50 points. There. 😅

Im not sure Hewett can go with Touk. Guy is a running machine. GWS had to double team him last week. I reckon we go head to head and back ourselves to beat their midfield even if touk has 30.

I'm honestly not sure of Hewett's running capacity.
So put Cripps on Rowell and Walsh on Touk. If they both break even, that leaves Cerra, Hewett and Kennedy. Who do they have to match those guys?
I just had a look, and they're not bad in the middle if everyone is going good.
Rowell, Anderson, Touk, Swallow, Fiorini and possible rotations of Weller, Ellis, Rankine and Ainsworth. Not sure how they use some of those guys.
I'll back our guys in anyway.
