Not overly disappointed about the loss given we were short 2-3 due to the league side playing in Perth, but my thoughts are as follows:
- Mirkov is improving and I look forward to the day he has the tank to be an option at AFL level
- Dow looks so likely when he’s at a stoppage but still can’t find the ball enough in open play
- it was great to see Ed back out there playing
- Stocker’s attack on the ball was outstanding and I’d really like to see him given a chance in the midfield next year
- Carroll is still a work in progress with his best and worst still a fair way apart
- Fogarty is a midfielder of VFL quality only and I can’t help but think we have wasted a list spot for 2 years on him, indeed IMO we’d be better off having Cahill on the list as another genuine small forward option
- I reckon I could see Leiu and Cincotta (and possibly Radovanovic) playing AFL football so hopefully we are thinking about them as possible replacements for Williamson and possibly Parkes
- I don’t see either Glass-McCasker or Lewis making the grade at AFL level
- Durdin looked better when he played against the Tigers but I think I’d like to see him stick around for at least next year given our lack of ready made key position players
- Akuei is a long term project but anything is possible as CJ from Hawthorn has show
- Josh Cripps is not even VFL standard
Voss said in Friday presser that Mitch McG is due back next week and that Marc Pittonet is "one or two weeks" from returning from a knee injury. No drugs for me unfortunately, this from the bluemours thread on 22/6
So, Pits had a setback or ?

We shouldn't have had Parks on the list at all IMO, and we should have had Lieu as a DFA or SSP signing.Lieu has been improving week on week and if we’re not looking at him as a Willo (or as Jimmae says Parkes) replacement we’re not doing our job.
Took some great clutch marks and was the only guy standing up at times in the backline.
Fog is Nick Graham lite.Couldn’t have said it better. Especially the assessment of Fog.

He’s above average VFL mid. Will be delisted and won’t get picked up by another AFL club.Agree.....Fog AFL standard, would get a game at a few clubs......he has been serviceable enough at Carlton AFL stat wise anyway paying his way

With respect to Fogarty, he will go straight onto another AFL list if we release him. He's too talented not to, this isn't a Graham situation, it's just about a club that has a stoppage system where he can flourish.
He doesn't get scrubbed off the ball like Fisher does, he just can't smash into the centre of every contest and have enough of an impact. But if there's some blocks going on? He'd flourish.
The confidence that would come with that would see him get a lot stronger in his stride, and his kicking depth would improve. Too much second guessing right now because he's being told it's not his go or his place. Stocker's another good example of this, and yet he suddenly showed some wheels on the weekend when it was his moment.
Some subtle over-coaching at work here.

Cincotta keeps building as well.
A little simplistic. Plenty of worse players on lists throughout the league, but when looking at our list, he doesn’t fit as well as many others. Doesn’t have the skill range to offset his lack of size is basically the issue. Will always be depth, and we must assess the out of contract options to refresh our list.Fog won't get on another list, VFL standard only

His future at Carlton is very much dependent on others, if Dow and Setterfield stay, take it as read he is gone. If one or both move on, he will be retained as depth, and more importantly a mature midfielder to support the development of our younger midfielders in the seconds.
I see him as an easy delist. He's not competing for a spot against either Dow or Setters, it's against the likes of Walsh, Fisher, Cunners, Honey.A little simplistic. we've got a couple coming back this week
we need to give geelong an extra slap on saturday for their insufferable trading of "look good but ain't" re-treads the last 10 or so years.........Both Dow and Setters have way more upside
Love Fog's attack on the ball and opponent, but lacks speed, quality of disposal, hurt factor
Essentially a poor mans Darren Hulme

Well anyone who bagged Liam Stocker either hates him or didn’t watch the game and made it up.
I just watched that game in full and he was ******* SENSATIONAL.
He was brutal. His hands below his knees were absolutely elite. Best game I’ve ever seen him play. He worked himself into the ground.
I mean I watched that game and thought “gee he’s a midfielder.” Powerful and just so clean. Good decision making.
Just an outstanding game. I will repost this in the Cats pre match thread because he should be picked. Great effort.
He was injured early in the season bought back to early for the Pies game, he's on top of the ground now moving really well.Well anyone who bagged Liam Stocker either hates him or didn’t watch the game and made it up.

Absolutely, he is ready. The issue is that he is required to play a different role at the top level. He is asked to lock down and play that accountable last man. He has no creative licence in the top team and is stifled. There is playing a role for the team and playing a suitable role.He was injured early in the season bought back to early for the Pies game, he's on top of the ground now moving really well.
Did you see when he ran through that tackle, it did not even slow him down, every game in the VFL he looks a class above.
He's ready.![]()
I saw Durdin get out marked/embarrassed by Manton, but not Stocker.Who was it that posted that Stocker got outmarked a couple of times by Manton? SHOW YOURSELF
