Hey ODN, it looks like you do these things in a spreadsheet, yeah?

If so, any chance you can add averages for the columns as well? Maybe just for the players named to play. I know it can be skewed by a couple of players at the extreme end, but still think it would be good to see.

TIA!

Not accurate at all unless I use years and days as well, which I don't with this one.

It's supposed to be a basic look at age ranges and experience.

I do have another one with the full list including average games, height, age, goals but I don't do them for the opposition teams.

Like our team, probably the only question is over our defence. Forward line and midfield pretty much full strength. Backline has a few out and to me looks slow. Weitering, Young and Plowman aren't quick, fortunately Docherty is running well and Saad is quick.

I'm going to feel a lot more comfortable with Marchbank and McGovern available, whether both play or not it's good to have quality depth in that area. The third tall spot has been a huge weakness for us and with a few injuries is once again a weakness this week. Should not matter if we are good enough, we should be good enough to win this and win it well.

A lot of questions over our defensive depth and whether our 2nd tall defender is good enough, that could be answered pretty soon. Recruiting wise key defender and third tall make be something we need to look at.

Wet weather football. See how we go. We've been good at it previously. Might not need to go in too tall.

Does Boyd get a crack as sub and let Martin play VFL? Or keep Martin as sub, then drive him over to Box Hill for the 2nd half of the VFL?

Wasn't really looking for a super accurate number, more just a general picture.

I think it would still give folks an idea of one team's age relative to another. They're both going to be somewhat inaccurate, but most likely inaccurate to roughly the same extent.

But OK, I get that you don't want to mislead ... thanks anyway.

Important game to have Lewis Young included so early in the season.
Not only are we potentially deficient in the 2nd key defender role, but it’s the 2nd key that can handle the king bros, Daniher and other super tall forwards.
Weiters has probably shown that if anything these guys are his Achilles heel.
At 201cm Lewis would be able to take these talls and give Weiters the 2nd matchup.
Good luck on Sunday and enjoy being a Blue Lewis.

Excited to watch how the midfield and forward line perform. Probably the best side we’ve fielded in half a decade.

Really curious as to how they use Cerra and Walsh - expecting one of them to spend a lot of time on the wing. Can’t see Setterfield having much in the way of midfield minutes.

I reckon Plowman will have a strong game - with Doc’s instructional leadership down back and a less 1-1 focused defensive structure, he’ll be able to show how committed he can be to kill the contest.

Watched the Hawks live last week, they were in complete control and clearly had confidence in what they do and how they do it; I’d take any sort of win here and run with it. Need to keep those defensive I50s to a manageable number and we should have enough up forward to overwhelm them.

An interesting tidbit I just read was that Hawthorn have been pretty comfortably beaten in clearances both weeks and have won. I think we are all expecting us to win the clearances but if we think that’s all it will take to run over them we might be in for a shock. I don’t think they are world beaters but wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a tight game, similar to last year.

I think it's more likely that Setters and LOB hold their wing minutes, and Cerra, Bam Bam etc roll through the high half forward that Fog played last week.
