watching that game is a perfect example why playing the young guys at Sandy isn't always the best thing for their development .
NWM will learn a lot more playing seniors today then what he would've playing for Sandy today
Tbh I think it comes down to. The best way to develop your players is to win with them in the side.

I’ll pay that. Hawks however are only good because Sam Mitchell was coaching them

It would be absolutely stupid for a club in StKilda's financial position to burn money on a stand alone team, with "debateable" advantage to the AFL team.

I remember Ed Phillips having good skills in the under 18. In Richo’s glorious headless chook game plan, remember no one in the team can hit a target consistently because everyone was fumbling, kicking long bombs to packs and always under pressure.

What a difference when you have a competent midfield and trust it to do it’s basic job to win the ball, feed it to runners in space. Mind you, under Ratts, this only happened occasionally as well, when our pressure completely over whelms the opposition. In the last 3 games however, there’s enough evidence to see that our first option is no longer long bomb down the line, we’re hitting short/medium targets, honouring leads.. All of a sudden, Seb Ross can hit targets, so can much maligned Hill, Mckenzie and Crouch with spearing darts to forwards.

Kent.

Seriously.

And we tossed Matty Parker…

Matty unfortunately came out of contract at the wrong time… and Kent (I think that’s how you pronounce it) had a year to go at precisely the right time (for him).

Sliding doors.

Ed was never going to be particularly damaging, i always thought he would be able to achieve something similar to his brother.

His brother was a good player when Collingwood were up and about. One point off a premiership player.

So was Robert Eddy. Plenty of right place at the right time in a premiership player.

He was a much more established player than Eddy was though. He was a big part of why they got there. A few guys from that era really dropped off afterwards.

Yep , that's why long goes this week and Windy stays in , Long is never going to be any better than he is now ==== Depth

Windy will probably end up a better player than Long but it's also a question of who makes us a better side

Butler is our only other pressure forward

Long has had 3 goals in two weeks from holding the balls

He also had 7 score involvement

Plenty of average players and up playing in premiership because they can play a role

So who comes in for Ryder?

Campbell or Hayes?

I'm going to come up with some original thoughts regarding rucks.
One is probably a better tap ruckman, but the other does more around the Ground. ©
