List Mgmt. 2022 Senior List - The Final TWO Spots

Bad luck Oscar and good luck in recovery. Glad we're not prematurely ending the career of a young kid for the sake of an extra pick in a speculative draft.

Two picks will do us I would have thought, unless there's another injury between now and the cut-off date.

Also hopeful but alas think it will be a bridge too far, much like last year’s MSD & only 2 selections.
Though, if we’ve done plenty of homework, perhaps we can pull in some wanted players that we’ve been monitoring.

I think it will depend on who we like. The club has made it clear we wont be taking stopgaps and only want guys that can make the level long term. Given the msd is normally slim pickings Id be surprised if we have 3 players available we would put in that catergory but you never know.

We have two spots, worth considering 1 youngish player doing well in the lower levels and one perhaps recent retired player who has kept up some fitness?? Just for 2022 depth/security

  • Lachie Henderson (31yo)... I know this might grate... but if Hird can be redeemed going back to *. Has history with Voss too.
  • Jonathan Patton (27)
  • Jake Carlisle (29)
  • Zac Smith (31)
  • Cale Hooker (32)

There were rumours regarding Hooker, that would be ironic

Henderson would be an ideal break glass option, is durable and has lots of finals experience.

It was last weekend at Princes Park....they played against Vic Country.

I got to see most of the game...thought Maher was okay without being a standout. Was hoping he may be more dominant, going from playing against AFL listed players to a bunch of 17/18yo's. Tyreece looked fairly solid down back....I reckons he'll become a pretty big unit when he develops over the next few years.

The standout players for mine were Charlie Molan (midfielder currently with Williamstown), Massimo D'ambrosio (midfielder currently with Tiggs VFL), and Jamieson Ballantyne (wingman currently with Dogs VFL) - who I thought was really impressive.

Another kid named Jai Culley didn't play through 'injury', but is tipped to be in the first few picked in the MSD.
Scouting Notes: Young Guns vs. Vic Metro U18s

a but of a write-up here, bearing in mind the blog is run by the sports stats software rookieme

no to all of them imo, behaviour & professionalism for two of them and age and mobility for two more. Zac smith is the only one i don't remember seeing after he left Geelong to go back to the suns

What about Bellchambers and Sier. Both playing in the Northern Football League.

I'd have thought you'd steer clear of cheap straw-manning.

It was never suggested that we should delist Parks so that we could take a MSD pick.

It was suggested that, if he was already in the frame for delisting, then moving him to the inactive list would be a viable list strategy decision given his injury will be preventing him from taking the field til the final few rounds of the year.

They're very different things, which I'm sure you're well and truly capable of comprehending.

Can't believe you didn't say "Mumford" and then mic drop. Done more farewells than Jonny Farnham.

I very much doubt you would back in McDonald for another season based on his history, out of McGovern/Marchbank he would seem the most likely to go at year end, as having three players on the list who are constantly injured is not ideal at all.

Yes, he was always insurance and he is not providing that.
