I thought she was in Adelaide, his sister in Queensland?

Signed to Adelaide, but allegedly still lives in Queensland the rest of the year.

Never thought where Tippah was playing now would be that big a draw card when it was clear that he’d be looking at a 5+ year deal (in what turned out to be 6 in the end).

Those netball contracts are all one year deals and no disrespect to her but she’s already been let go by the Firebirds previously so there is certainly no guarantee she’ll be playing in Adelaide (or anywhere for that matter) in a few years from now.

I think the whole Tippah plays for the Thunderbirds, so Dunkley must want Port was just an easy, lazy media narrative to conclude.

Tippah is from Qld or certainly lives here when not playing in Adelaide.

Something to be said for training an army of Queensland girls and sending them out across Melbourne, develop relationships with AFL players, bring them back here as often as possible and then get them to request a trade to the Lions.

If we can get a couple of early draft picks I would trade out Bailey we've got adequate replacement in Lohmann and Coleman.
Peak bigfooty for me.

Trade out a proven 22 year old who has kicked 70 goals across the last 2 seasons because we have an 18 year old who has played 2 games and shown nothing at AFL level. I also have serious doubts about Blake Coleman, does he have the drive to be a average let alone great player.

Bailey's not the sort of player you'd consider trading unless you were given an offer you couldn't refuse.

Linc's a good honest player. Would he have much value as a trade ?
More than what we paid, but probably not a lot.

Could there be a 3 way trade with Bulldogs and Collingwood? Anyone from Collingwood who could go to the Dogs?

Once we can begin controlling the ball a bit easier around stoppage and centrebounce I think it'll be a revelation for what we want to do with our team defence and back 6. All that stuff David King has been speaking about for like 10 weeks is PARTLY a symptom of our midfield deficiencies IMO.

I genuinely think it is like 60% of the problem. Other 40% is a combo of structure, inconsistent pressure and defenders who refuse to mark the ball.

Our defence cratered when Adams got Covid and stopped having an AA quality year taking intercept marks.

Quote fox footy breaking news - I personally would like to keep dev unless it is an absolutely amazing offer. Dev could be part of trade which in my book is very disappointing.I would rather look at other players. For me Dev would be in the untouchables list.

‘Lion can unlock $4.5m deal amid play for Hawk;

A young Lion could help unlock the Josh Dunkley deal, with Brisbane still hoping to swoop for a Hawthorn veteran as well.

Brisbane will have to get “inventive” to complete the Josh Dunkley trade and they still hold interest in Hawthorn’s Jack Gunston, reports the Herald Sun’s Jon Ralph.

Western Bulldogs midfielder Dunkley requested a trade to the Lions on Monday, with his current club reportedly to ask for two first-rounders in return.

Brisbane holds picks 15, 33, 44 and 69, and so could trade their 2022 and 2023 first-round selections if desired.

But they need selections to match bids for two father-son prospects - potential No.1 pick Will Ashcroft and Jaspa Fletcher - for whom they need as many draft points as possible. Their current suite of picks alone would not be enough to match a bid for Ashcroft at pick 1.

It could see them forced to unload a player like Deven Robertson, who worked his way into the finals 22 as a defensive midfielder, with West Coast holding interest in the WA product.

Gunston, the veteran Hawks forward, is a free agent and would not cost them a draft pick.

“The Dogs will ask for two first-rounders because they think he’s (Dunkley) actually improved as a player recently,” Ralph said on Fox Footy’s On the Couch.

And I can tell you tonight that Jack Gunston is still a chance to get to the Lions. He’s an unrestricted free agent and they have cap space for him.

“So imagine bringing in Gunston, Dunkley. the Nick Daicos equivalent in Will Ashcroft, so they use up all their picks on their two father-sons.

“They’ll have to get inventive then, so I think they’re gonna have to consider the likes of Deven Robertson - West Coast very keen.

“They’ll get this deal done but it’s going to take every pick this year and next, that might be OK.”

While the trade period may be costly, it will be worthwhile for the Lions according to club great Jonathan Brown.

“I think it’s worth it because while the window’s open, it’s right that they give it another crack,” he said on On the Couch.’

Yeah, I think the mid deficiencies wouldn't quite allow us to setup perhaps how we would have ideally liked to behind the ball and then add a lack of pressure around the ball and it isn't hard to break a system down.

Adams was our second most important player when he was firing.

The guy seems to perpetually have injury/health issues that keep popping up.

Surely he gets a run of good luck over the next couple of years. It's a massive impact to have someone drifting off half back clunking it.

Our M/F wasn't up to par overall and we compounded the issue by persisting with a structure that wasn't working.

I’m getting far too mad about how terrible the coverage from Ralphy and on the couch is here.

If we somehow manage to keep our future first it likely gets pushed back due to a deficit anyway - so who cares about the 2023 draft being wiped out.

This move also isn’t about maximising a window, it is to take advantage of getting a free hit at a potential number one pick without having to have pick one to get him.

Great news about Dunkley officially nominating us, I’m a huge fan and think he will turn out to be a great recruit by the club.

Funny how much weight some opposition supporters had put on a 1 year netball contract!!! Seems like more than a few Port supports and Bulldogs supporters (pick 8) got attached to that potential deal. Even without the benefit of hindsight, signs point to a likely Brisbane nomination the past few weeks.

If we bring in Dunks , Ashcroft and Fletcher and we don't have to give away much that's a very strong haul for 22/3.
