With finals a chance in the AFL, there’s no chance to experiment and try something different. I’d love to see them play Shoey in the middle for 3 games in a row and see how he goes because he has all the attributes to be a good midfielder for our club. Unfortunately can’t see them doing it because of a chance to play finals.
If Shoey does well, it could change our approach to draft and trade. We could trade out most of this years draft picks into next years as it’s supposedly stronger. Amazing that one player could change everything, big if though

He only took ten after passing out of the square. Was it a kickout, or something else?
It was a kick out

I wonder what the rule is there?

If the umpire's interpretation is correct how exciting to be the first team penalised for it

Impressive game by the Crows. Strachan dominated the ruck and took many good marks. The pressure from the midfield was immense. Most of the game played in the Crows half. Best game I have seen Himmelberg play, clearly BOG.

The core of this team has played together for a while now and the benefit of having a SANFL team loaded with AFL talent and superior fitness may mean it could be premiership time.

Jarrad Wright (South coach) had at crack at the condition of Unley Oval yesterday. Too muddy, unsafe, not up to league standard. Said they picked up a couple of ankle injuries due to the ground.

Fair enough imho. It's in terrible condition. Sturt have moved their senior trainings to Karen Rolton Oval.

We play Sturt there on Sat Aug 19 in the afternoon then our league team plays Sydney Saturday night at Adelaide Oval. Would we be able to switch the SANFL game there as a curtain-raiser?

There are likely to be 15,000+ spare seats for Sturt fans...

Unley is notorious for having a substandard surface - particularly since League matches returned to the ground.

Also, was Wright sure that was mud? :D
