Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

If he is still there at pick 4, will someone hit us up with over the top offers. Which club is most likely to be ultra keen to get him.

GWS? would they swap their pick 7+f1 for 4 or Demons with 6+F1
That is one of the ways to get ahead in life, and the normal way of nailing the pick, especially when have high picks, like the DGB pick.

Getting 2 good players than just one or splitting and nailing your picks ahead. Somehow you have to better than 17 other teams.

I would still pick Duursma with 4. That said I would love to have the dees picks as I think O’Sullivan and Darcy Wilson will be elite and fill 2 list holes. All that said I’m expecting our choices will be Curtin or the Wizard so it’s hard to see us losing in any of those scenarios. Other hope is the McCabe bid comes closer to 20 than 15 so we can retain pick 49 and potentially take a speculative tall. Doubt ZZ gets that far but Wil Dawson should and looks a prospect.

Looking at the diff rankings McCabe is likely to be called at North's pick 17 or 18 which would be pick 21 or 22 on the night.

I would want us to bundle 49,62,63(512pts) for Suns 36(502) or 38(465). Our picks will gain points as initially bids are matched and that shoudl persuade Suns + we can promise not to bid on Read. Maybe 3 way trade with Eagles for their F3, so we don't touch pick 36 or 38.

McCabe bid say around pick 20 should eat up 44 & 47( both picks should move up 2-3 spots). If there are any leftover points, we should get pick 69-71.

Then trade back the 36 or 38 or pick 37+58 that Eagles hold for our F2(Pies).

From the combined player ratings one of the talls like ZZ at 33 or Shoemaker at 32 may be available. Plus risky picks like George Stevens at 34, Ashton Moir at 37, Freijah at 43 & Will Dawson at 47.

or someone rated higher like Logan Morris at 30 could have slid a bit.

and if we don't go the Wiz and get duursma or curtin maybe someone like Jack Delean in the 30's could be good.

There's a strong possibility now that North might not go Duursma & McKercher as most thought. Word around here this morning is that they're looking at a Curtin/Colby combo. There's also a slight chance they might go Duursma/Curtin.
We're not convinced although North are apparently convinced we're taking Curtin - make of that what you will.

I can't say who we've decided on but I'm sure the name we call out will make some people happy and some people unhappy. I will say that if Duursma is still there then we're definitely taking him.

Melbourne's offer of 6, 11 & 42 for 4, 62 & 63 has been dismissed.

If TJ did slip to the 40’s would we match a bid and then also take Dear? That would be a full list (if we get to keep Chad and Stephens)

Sounds exciting and a little ominous all in one 😀

I wonder if they added their F1 whether we would accept. Would be hard to pass up considering we’d probably get say caddy, O’Sullivan + McCabe and have two firsts next year.

It may be a bit too “ courageous” for North to pick two interstate kids with 2 and 3 but who knows? Certainly not me .

Dees believe we are locked on Curtin.

Massive whispers that North will take him. Spitting out Colby or Zane to us.
