Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

After what the Dear family has been through I would hope that as a gesture of respect other clubs allow Calsher to be picked by the Hawks with our final selection.
In the cut throat world of AFL football I hope there is still room for some sentiment and decency.

I don’t see Dear being picked up in ND, he will slip to rookie draft.

Those who are hanging on Twomey's phantom draft should read what he actually wrote. Sure, he nominated Watson but then stated: "it looks most likely to come down to a 50-50 decision between Watson and key defender Curtin, with a very tight call looming. Could go either way".
I suggest you go look at his last few phantom drafts. He often mentions it’s up in the air but the player he suggested at the pick is usually the one that gets selected.

If North are not going to bid, then we have to.

If Suns agree to trade their Pick in 20's to us for a combo of our picks where these lose points, then I am on board with no bidding on Walter or Read at 4.

Else make them pay with bids if they are not willing to take slight unders for 250 or so points gained per bid, 125pts advantage per bid if bid slides to pick 5.

Then other clubs may offer us their late picks + F2/3 based on player slides before McCabe bid

Pick 32(584) or 36(502) for 49+62+63( 512pts). The late picks gain 100+ points as well as bids get matched.

Suns may not need all these points if Clubs are going to make it smooth for them even though the players are rated high

Which likely means one of Giants or Cats are going to land Eagles’ F1 which will likely be pick 1-2. Massive. We’d surely have a crack but Eagles F1 would be too good
all the Eagles F1 deal are not straight swap.

the last one I saw is F1+23 for 7+16+f1(gws) which the GWS fans laugh at.

point is Eagles are not proposing straight swap, so our F1 straight swap is lot better.

Interesting. If we landed Watson, Curtin and McCabe that would be an incredible haul

How can something be unbelievable and totally believable at the same time. North are an absolute stain on the competition the faster they are removed the better. No-one even cared in the 90s when they were really good. The solution to a 19 team comp seems quite obvious really.
I got a north mate who says he’s done with his club.. reckons they’ll always be crap because of this sort of stuff.. his Mrs works at hawks, told him to change his whole family over to a winning club!!

What’s more desirable.. west coast Future first or hawks future first?? Curtin and Watson would be a dream result..
Both could get traded if both teams are interested in those future picks.. I think our tough draw adds a little more incentive for teams to get ours. Not that it will be better than West Coasts, but just makes it look more likely it will end up being a good pick.

You would think that cats or Giants would have to add a little more to the deal. It would more than likely be future first for pick 8 + future first.

How often does he nominate two players as 50/50?
If not him? The Crows have tossed up between Thilthorpe, Logan McDonald and Elijah Hollands for some time, with the call finally coming down to Thilthorpe and McDonald. It wouldn't surprise at all if they went with McDonald given his draft CV and links to South Australia.

Mackie and co will have all their fingers and toes crossed, hoping Curtin slides to them. They'll surely take that F1 from WCE.
