Isn’t as bad as it looks. Everyone is hiding in the shady areas and the camera side of the ground is more heavily populated.
Yep did catch that when they flippped the camera to that side of the ground. I’d say potentially 10k with that side of the ground pretty full

Yeah I'd say the heat would put a lot of people off. Combined with the Giants having a couple of really poor seasons and the Crows not exactly flying high.

On a separate note, does anyone else think the location of Giants Stadium work against them? Like the stadium itself is fine, but I've always thought of the Sydney Olympic Park precinct as the Sydney version of Waverley, this location that just feels like so much effort to get to. I wonder whether they would've been better building a boutique stadium in central Parramatta or out at Blacktown ISP.

Weirdly, better than average for their last 10 games there.

However, these crowds really need to get to the stage where the bottom level is at least 12-15k if they’re going to be viable.

They will be fine. Coming off a crap year and apparently the weather was oppressive up there today.

Metro west will be built by the end of the decade and the AFL can subsidise them at the current level until next century

That’s an incredible 291,473 to the 4 MCG games this round.

Not only smashes the previous record for the G for one round (was 226,902) but also beats the record for all games in Melbourne for one weekend (286,475) without even adding the games at Docklands.

It wouldn't be used by enough people to make it worthwhile. How many sellouts are there, maybe half a dozen? And even then you would probably only have a few hundred people using it.
Apart from Anzac day, 1 every couple of years sells out.

Essendon used to do it at Marvel for a couple of years, but they decided it wasn't worth it for the reasons you mentioned.

Nah the location isnt that hard to get to. Just off the M4 freeway, plenty of parking and train station at the precinct. Western Sydney culture
( highly multicultural with no existing footy culture) is the barrier to success.

A shame no match in Perth. Would of comfortably beaten the record.

The upside is that those crowds are banked for future weeks.

Almost the record for a round and 2 of the 3 non-Vic games were suns and giants home games
