You draft to get the best overall draft hand and list you can. If we ranked Daicos as #1 we should've called him.
Still pisses me off that we didn’t. He was clearly the best in it and the pies needed to pay up, instead we gave it to some other ********. Can’t remember his name

Hate to get sidetracked, but It’s very different from the Goodes booing imo. The Goodes booing started after some racial issues and how he handled them.
I saw Goodes play quite a bit when I lived in Sydney. I always thought he was pretty dirty off the ball and went for a lot of cheap shots on kids. That's why I booed him when he'd be a dirty campaigner and stage for frees and the umpires would generally pay them.... nothing to do with race.

Way too early to be writing JHF off as a bust just as it was ridiculous from Port fans saying JHF was one of the best players in the the AFL.
He shows flashes, he's going to have up and down games but mentally I think this will be his toughest year.
Like I expected, he's going to cop it from neutral fans most of this year. You can bet the Crows fans will boo him, maybe even for the rest of his career.
Funny how the media puts so much attention on a young kid and then can't fathom why he's targeted by fans, you're partly to blame.
Well paying him 800k or whatever for 5 years and investing significant draft capital looks to be pretty crap risk reward based on evidence over his first season and a bit of output!

giantroo can we please have the footage of simple Jason standing in the centre while Taylor adams pushes to forward 50 and marks and goals that was highlighted on first crack last night?

It’s a beauty

Exactly this. It's revisionist history to say goodes was only booed because of racism. He was booed and disliked well before all of that. He showed his true colours when he threw LT under a bus. He didn't want to stick up for him because he knew it'd upset the swans supporters.

Funny watching Damo on 'Access all areas' getting all high and mighty about the booing of JHF. Saying it's bullying, it's a major issue and needs to be stamped out etc.

Then Lloyd just bats it off and says "it's been happening for years and it's harmless theatre for mine" - and he would know. Probably got booed more that 99.99% of players.

This...

... goodes was only booed because of racism.

and this can both kind of be true. I have no doubt that he wasn't a particularly liked opposition opponent because he played on the line and seemed to get well looked after by umpires. That doesn't change the fact that a whole bunch of real shit types were unequivocally happy to pile on for reasons that had everything to do with Goodes not protesting according to some pre imagined unachievable appropriate way.

TLDR - Stop booing when shit people are using it as an excuse for blatantly racist signposting - which is exactly where it ended up.

When he eventually plays us in Melbourne we should refrain from booing. Gotta stay classy. I’m sure he’ll be copping it from all the ferals every week now that the media have and will continue to highlight it.
yeah, no booing, but throw a barrel full of dummies and nappies at him. (and the odd block of ice)

As much as I think that plain old booing is a tradition of the game and it's a bit of fun in most circumstances, I do recall the absolute bile that vile Geelong supporting nuffs spat from their foul mealy mouths towards Colbert over several matches. They were an embarrassment to their club and obviously lacked class.

We would not want to descend to the same gutters inhabited by Geelong supporting dirtbags.

Like I’ve said, give him nothing, ignore the guy.

Just run up the score
