I can genuinely see Port heading in one of two ways. Either they’re going to bounce back and be a top four contender, or equally I can see them getting off to a bad start again, massive pressure on Hinkley, they dump him and they go into a mini rebuild as a result of a new coach coming in.

Ok so this team was minor premiers in 2020, 2nd in 2021 & then came 11th (2 games off 8 & better percentage than Dogs in 8th). They have 3 good key forwards, now have 2 dangerous small forwards when fit, 3 young gun midfielders + a Brownlow medalist & Boak, 2 all Australian defenders + their captain who is a strong defender and an overall strong core.

How do they flame out?
1. Poor coaching by Hinkley
2. Injuries
3. Attitude problems potentially stemming from the moves made this offseason
4. The team takes time to mesh

Most likely they return to the top 8 at least, just have too much talent overall.
