I like the Collard pick, he looks like a younger version of Liam Henry with plenty of speed and skill which is just what we need.

I don't think he will be a flight risk, with Henry and Hill there at our club it should help him to settle in and feel more at home.

We still have 2 F3rd rounders.

Wonder if we can trade one and get into the next 10 picks
Next year has a stronger midfield draft. It really depends on what the club is looking for and I highly doubt the draft ends at 40 like some were saying. There will be stars in the 20-40 range because there are always good players taken in that range. History shows us. There will be a few busts too. History shows us that too.

Trading a future third is a possibility if there is a second player in that 30-40 range the club is keen on.

Would LOVE Shoenmaker with our next pick. Perfect Coff replacement on the list.

If Henry takes the #23 then give Lance the #24. Locker buddies. Also puts him next to Pou which helps.

It’s who I want at our next pick to. Solves 2 massive issues for me.

We lacking genuinely good kicks, but those that can take significant territory by boot aswell

And height across half back to intercept.
Got 3 years to make Collard love Melbourne.

Was far too good of a talent to pass up and fills a gap in on the list.
It’s funny, for a decade - maybe more. I felt all we did was draft blue collar footballers.

Jack Steven our only real Xfactor for a long time.

In 2 1/2 drafts. We have taken Nas Owens Pou Collard and traded in Henry - all who are genuine Xfactor match winner types.

Haven’t nailed 3 consecutive drafts in my lifetime I don’t think. Rare territory! 😍

Not sure how old you are, but 00-02 gave us: Roo, Kozy, Dal, X, Goose, Joey, Ball and BJ

I know things are easier when you are picking at the top-end. But surely 8 gun players in a 3 year spread counts (Fish, Lenny and Blake in the years either side didnt hurt either)

Hopefully Owens, Windy, Pou, NWM and now Wilson & Collard can form that type of nucleus. That list above probably shows we need to hit once or twice again next year too (on top of nailing this year).

Worth mentioning.

Mid year at a club function. Ross spoke about backing in our program and the culture we are creating to develop all types of players but make them feel at home at stkilda and he referenced Pou Keeler Nas re-signing.

Collard was the best talent available at the pick by far.

I feel a sense of proudness at how far we have come so quickly in this space. We 1000000% turned our back on those we perceived would be difficult and different in the past
