We are definitely just outside a real clear top 12-13 kids, probably choosing from a lance collard (small forward), Charlie edwards (big bodied mid), Harry demattia (mid), Archie roberts (small half back) and a few others, maybe there is some merit in trying to slide back and get 2 early 2nd round picks

1-wc: Harley Reid
2-gc: jed Walter (bid matched)
3-nm: Colby mckercher
4-nm: Zane duurmsa
5-haw: Dan curtin
6-dogs: nick watson
7-suns: Ethan read (bid matched)
8-melb: Nate caddy
9-gws: Connor O’Sullivan
10-cats: ryley Sanders
11-ess: Caleb Windsor
12-ade: Ollie Murphy
13-melb: Darcy Wilson
14-syd:
15-st.k:

Croft and Rogers are ranked inside the top 12 which probably pushes a few out. Tholstrup, DeMattia and Hardeman suit needs. James Leake is meant to be a pretty decent running HB so is Archie Roberts. Charlie Edwards could go a bit earlier to a side needing mids like Geelong and St Kilda. Heaps of KPs, rucks and general forwards around the mark with our picks too.

WTF? Wilson look's a gun. Looks like a second coming of Lenny Hayes with his side step and his ability to set up others.

Wilson is the kid we should target but think he might be just out of range at #13. If we were able to move up to Geelongs pick at #8 we would have a chance at grabbing one of midfileders Ryley Sanders, Colby McKercher (if they slide) or Darcy Wilson if thats what we are wanting. Wilson is not quite as high production but he reminds me a bit of Sam Walsh.

McKercher will go top 5 surely.

Seen much Tholstrup StCicatriz ?

Seems like a good option for our end of first if he makes it that far (and if we still have it).

I think he's even worth considering with our first from what I have seen of him. His competitiveness really stands out. Looks like he could be a genuine match winner.
Yep, bring some BDE to the club

he does have a lennyesque gate, but those lackluster highlights aside, watching all his touches in the non highlight video he looks like the second coming of aron fiora. Watch windsor and then watch this snowflake, there is no comparison. Jye caldwell looked like lenny too, with about a quarter the heart

my draft calls have been v strong apart from the sonsie love, tbh im surprised sos aint on the phone right now

I'd be going Wilson over Windsor.

He does have a nice highlight package but there isn't a great deal of production.

Wilson has had the much more dominant performances and can go forward and kick multiple goals.

A kid to keep an eye on for our second pick is Arie Schoenmaker had his issues with a club suspension this year back came back and showed real maturity. Has a leg on him and uses it bloody well. Some may have a issue with him being a Def but there is a real talent there under the right guidance.

looks like this years Elijah Hewett.. as with Hewett he has:
1.already shown he can contribute at WAFL level as an u18..
2 good size.
3 good footskills.
4 good agility
5. seems a genuine footballer.

May be around our range.. Hewett went at 14 last year

I reckon Sonsie is still going to be good player. Richmond chose to play a very mature side under Mini. He didn't give much of a run to kids.

Probably won't make it to our first pick but Connor O'Sullivan looks a gun.

He looks good but I'd rather try to get into the mids. He does look very good but hate using high picks on KPDs and a guy like Tholstrup is more likely to make an impact sooner. COS looks and excellent distributor and mark but wonder if the marking will be less impactful at AFL level where speed, height and power increase.

I reckon Elijah has a bit more of a prettier game than Tholstrup but Tholstrup has real drive and an intangible quality. He's got a bit of that competitiveness that looks like it is worth more than skill. Danger is one of those that has it.

Agree. When I first saw him I dismissed him for some of that sloppiness. But his work at senior level is very good. You’re right on the intangible.

There was one of those plays in that video where he chases and corrals, chases again then gets a smother on. That kind of hardcore desperation reminds me of Selwood when he was young. He might not ever reach those heights but he's got something.

A couple of phantom drafts to look at -

Jeepers. Collard had some end to the year

"A few months ago, Collard would’ve been outside the top 40 of some club draft boards. Now he looms as genuine first-round chance – some scouts believe he’s WA’s most talented prospect – after an outstanding finish to his draft year. Collard had just one standout performance in a quiet national carnival for WA – 2.2 against Vic Country – although clubs were sympathetic to the fact he had asked to spend more time with his family during that period. But the Subiaco goalkicker – who’s blessed with an enormous leap, electric speed and great goal nous -produced a stunning back-end to his draft year at WAFL colts level, booting 10.1 in two finals to finish with 32.13 from 11 games for the season. Collard then impressed at the combine with a solid 2km time trial result of 6:32 before recording the fastest agility test of any prospect (8.157 seconds) and finishing fourth in the 20m sprint (2.923 seconds), while clubs were just as impressed by how he carried himself during the interview process. Collard, who grew up a Fremantle supporter, is tied to the Eagles via their Next Generation Academy. Yet West Coast can only match a bid on him if it lands outside the top 40 picks – and any hopes the Eagles had Collard wouldn’t be picked up in the top 40 are now surely dashed."

would looooove to get collard with the gresham compo, looks really good, projects to be one of the biggest figjams in the league (if he puts in the work ofcourse). Massive ceiling. Also a good footballer. Windsor and Collard and Im a happy camper... though I haven't really looked at any other players around our pick.. keep the posts coming gringo

Any concern with the "wanting to be around family" at the time of the Champs (i.e., go home factor)? It could have been personal tragedy or the like, but some alarm bells for mine...

He's got real Aker vibes. Or maybe Jamie Cripps with a Ginnivan attitude.
