Clubs seem to have decided that those one position inside bulls are out of style. Port were trying to hock Olly Wines a couple of years off a Brownlow. I don't get it. If you have a good one it's like having a star ruck. It makes a massive difference. He looks like one of those guys that could win a Brownlow and 10 years ago would have been a top 10 pick.

They can be hard to predict at this level.
For all we knew Jack Bytel could have been that sort of player.
Either they are good enough at AFL level or not, hard to tell until they try.

Part of that was having to build from the ground up. The current system looks like the AFL is willing to reward sides that cull their list and crash hard. No point in being half good. Sides in the middle of the ladder are penalised to make GC and North stronger.

Not with GWS, GCS yeah.

GCS the AFL essentially went "here's a license, you're based here, good luck!" gave them SFA outside of money, they had to make all the agreements and build all the infrastructure to support themselves.

GWS, the AFL essentially had a hand up their clacker so they could make those agreements and gave them access to every kid and every free person available to raffle. The AFL wanted them to be a dynasty to eat into the NRL since the Swans took ages and they wanted immediate success to wam bam.

GWS only failed because they had the talent, but they didn't have the heart to reach it consistently, GCS never had a chance, AFL dropped them like a hot potato immediately.

alleged to have gotten in trouble for bullying someone with disabilities.

For multiple years, don't forget the history aspect as shows premeditation.

Agree, be able to get the ball first from clearance and dish it out cleanly to outside is so under rated. We couldn’t win high quality clearances, hence the struggle to win the midfield, having a good ball pig makes a huge difference.

I gave the short version.
Its not so hard to reasearch if they want more.

Didn’t he play a vfl game and kill it ? Sometimes people find reasons why a kid won’t make it and ignore what‘s staring them in the face.

Absolute joke we didn't get a crack until pick 18. Really pisses me off. How are we supposed to have any hope?
