Lual, plays like Jaith with some Naz in there too. This wasn't a good game from him though. Good in traffic, burst away pace.
Laul and George are both likely to play in the Hampden league GF for South Warrnambool next weekend in the senior side with Coates talent league finished for them at the rebels. I'll be going to watch and keep a keen eye on them.

That’s a pretty ordinary set of highlights, but to be fair, he seems to have hit his straps in the NAB league post champs

The champs footage are usually every touch not highlights. Wilson's are a highlight package. I love the way he moves. Depends on how much we rate ball winning over run and flash. He looks more outside but has wheels and moves.

DeMattia has something about him and a bit of alpha. Could do worse. He seems a Lyon type, loves to get in and get the ball but also runs and attacks but average disposal. He's not a stodgy inside mid at least.

Big George

this one pls

big inside mid with a killer boot (from that clip), great penetration and good angle of attack on the kick, also looks to have good awareness of where his teammates are (nice dinky little kick near the end of that clip for eg) and makes good decisions. Will be physically ready to go round 1. How's his endurance?

Colby McKercher Tasmania Devils/Allies MID, 181cm, 73kg
Flight risk in the event that Tassie get their team, but a "pure midfielder" if we can get an early pick off someone.

Jake Rogers SUNS Academy/Allies MID, 171cm, 68kg
Would love to do a deal with Gold Coast for an early pick and for them to not match a bid on "Buck" Rogers, the closest in the draft to an early Jack Steven. They're not exactly short of gun mids up there, they don't need him, but we really do. All told, probably my favourite of the draft. Gun.

Connor O'Sullivan Murray Bushrangers/Vic Country DEF/FWD, 198cm, 92kg
If we end up with multiple first round picks, "Gilbert" would be a great lock down fullback option. The fact we let Ozzie Adams go suggests we have our eye on other KD options.

George Stevens GWV Rebels/Vic Country MID/DEF, 189cm, 84kg
I really like this guy, ready to go no bullshit MID with leadership, if we end up with just our current FRDP I'd go for him, although i guess he is a bit slow so we probably won't. If he does become a Saint, listen for all the commentators to call him George Steven.

Less interested in forward mids like Caddy or Duursma or outside mids like Wilson but won't be unhappy if that's what we end up with. Out of those 3, the zippy running man Wilson seems the most suited to us.

Looking forward to seeing what Toce can find on a national level.

Stevens will drift out through lack of pace. It's the major black mark for drafting now days.
Realistically we need to focus on pace above all. We get killed for being slow and it limits defensive pressure and spread.
Edit: l take it back. He doesnt lack pace just isn't above average. For his size he moves very well.

Still though. The thing we're missing in our midfield is speed. Don't think Stevens is our guy, much as I like him.

Looks like a Steele clone to me, would be a good get, but doesn't address a list need.
If we really rate him we'd be silly not to take him. By the time he's ready to go Crouch will be done and Steele will be into his 30's.

Still not sure about him though, looks extra slow...

If he's still there at our second pick would you take him or gamble on him being there for the 3rd? Everyone wants speed nowadays but in 5 years it might be a different game.

I haven't followed the draft closely enough to know who will be there at our 2nd worth taking but I have read and seen a fair bit of footage of him and he looks like the type you might take with a 3rd but wouldn't be gambling a good pick on.

Mitch and Windy have some good clip but they're still a couple of years off. We just aren't gonna get that guy we need without a top 5 pick so l reckon we've got to build around it and find receivers that can go.
It's also about fostering mind set. Horny Francis isn't quick bit he hits the ball at full pace which none of our guys do. But that requires a tap ruckman which we dont have ATM. All our mids are good scrappers but you need 2 of them and an out player which will be Mitch in time.

Wilson has the most appeal to me, but with Henry coming in, that leaves us with 4 wingers. Just interested as to how it translates on field. Not saying he's an immediate starter, but its a lot of depth to have for that position.

He's a bit slow but a big body extractor. Doesn't seem to struggle with endurance from reports I've read.

He's my pick as well.

Feel we might be a few spots too late for him though.

If WCE can trade out pick one they might eat up a few WA kids in that first round and make a few push out. Nate Caddy could go anywhere from 4 onward even. A few of those could easily move around dependent on needs.
