I'm not a fan of diluting the quality for more quantity. If anything we should be trying to trade up maybe not this draft but 100% in next years
It really depends on the draft, who we like and what positions we are targeting.

Seems like you could throw a blanket over a a big chunk of players in our draft range.

Looks a stiff.

The fact his TAC cup highlights have him rucking also point to it.
I wouldn't read anything into that. He's 200cm, so of course he's going to be played in the ruck, but he came on when playing in defence by the sounds of it.

I dont know a huge lot about him but those highlights are very hard to judge off when every ball that comes his way is a sky ball that he works his way under. All the articles I've read on him comment on his speed and mobility.

13 and 21 seems like BPA

27 seems targeted. Very random spot to come back into. 40 would have come in slightly. 27 comes out to 32 ish.

So we are talking 5ish spots.

Looks nothing like a key afl back or forward.

Is a ruck at afl level.

Identical to McEvoy.

Elite mark.

Lacks movement/agility to make it in a key position role.

I’m going to partially disagree with you. I think he is a key defender/forward by skills set, but I think he’s going to “grow out of” the sweet spot for those positions.

If he gets much taller, he’ll simply be too big to be agile enough at AFL level IMO.

The difficulty then, of course, is that I agree with prevailing view that ruckmen are naturally so, not just tall dudes thrown into the middle. So by that metric, he’s not a ruckman either at AFL level.

It’s going to be really interesting to see what a club does with him once he’s drafted.

Skills wise, it looks like he is an upgrade on your typical ruckman. The name escapes me, but potentially has the floor of that blonde-haired KPP that Collingwood got this year after being on ADE and PA lists....

Again though. My issue isn’t his skills.

It’s his mobility/agility - which makes him look like a ruck and at AFL level will be an issue playing a key position role - especially key back

And that’s where I agree with you.

Billy “How the f#%k am I a premiership player?” Frampton.

Bit harsh. The guys that write for them do watch a lot of under age footy and aren't just going off a 90 second clip.

There's also gotta be a bit to it if it's coming from multiple sources you'd think
True but when was the last time you read one that said can’t play, can’t kick ?.

I haven’t tried saying it’s anything but my opinion.

His age is irrelevant.

I’m not questioning his strength. Size or running ability. Which are the areas you would expect to see significant improvement from in an afl environment.

I’m saying he lacks the athleticism and agility you want from a key position player. Which are very hard to improve.

Hence why he is rucking in the TAC matches and not being shoe horned at either end and being called a swingman like he is at carnival level.

All that from a 2 mins highlight clip crikey you need to become a full time recruiter! You would only have to watch 30mins of footy each season leading up to drafts....

He looks really good.

If someone is going to knock him.

I believe the knock is whether he can make the jump to an inside mid like Walsh at Carlton did.

Yeah, outside guys have very high bust factor compared to guys who win inside ball. O'Brien from the blues is the perfect example of a guy who struggled to make an impact once he made the AFL. I reckon Windsor is so outside that he has more of that bust factor because if his spread and run doesn't work he's going to struggle to impact. Wilson has more of an inside game. I can see him being a good Seb Ross replacement as a kind of first receiver rather than a rover type.

Wonder what’s changed in 24 hours. Wilson still available at our pick in his updated version and Harry was available at our pick yesterday when he went with Wilson. Interesting. He must know something.
