Can we go back 24 hours where Wilson seemed like a lock? Much prefer that timeline.
They all have no clue wtf is going on though.

Twomey had Wilson at 20. McGowan has him at 12.

The rumours of trades have spooked them all with the order.

Definitely prefer others to Demattia. On the topic of re if he cannot accumulate at u18s. Nasiah in the champs was averaging around 12 disposals a game and has grown into the player he is today it’s not the be all. On Wilson he looks like he has more tricks and the production to go with it. (High disposal games with goals) he would essentially take Greshams role in r1 next year. Demattia will start as a back pocket and hopefully ? Become a mid

Has us taking Charlie Edwards and Ollie Murphy (read in reader mode on your phone. Website has the equivalent of herpies with the amount of ad space they are selling)

He was guessing yesterday todays the late mail

But this seems like the year he will get more wrong than he ever has tbh

I would say his late mail is more about us cooling on Wilson, but he still has no idea who we are hot on.

So Dimattia is still another guess.

Mitch Edwards and Riley Hardeman just as likely.

Marc McGowan (The Age) has us taking DeMattia and Shoenmakers.
We have been linked a few times.

gringo2011 yeah would be a nice pick up if we can grab him late in the first round or at 27

I’ll pass on Shoenmakers.

Seems to read the ball poorly in flight in that vision, often getting there late and spoiling for 3-4 deep. If you’re going to play a 3rd tall role, you need to be able intercept.

Kicking is so so, and seems very much a receiver. I’d be pretty confident in saying he won’t translate to the AFL

I see the hysteria has descended on draft time. Writing off a player who is 18 y.o and has years of development is plain ridiculous.
Who ever we take, let's not melt until all our selections are done.
Remember the melts when we selected Long at 26 and Battle at 39. In hindsight Shai Bolton was better than Long but on the night if it was reversed ( Battle @26 and Long 39 nobody would have batted an eyelid).
So if we for example picked DeMattia pick 13 then say Edwards at 21, would anyone complain?
And whoever we take, give them a chance FFS. If it's not your guy, suck it up and trust the recruiting guys.

Let's hope so. Seems like one of those years where nothing after pick 3 is set in stone.

But 2020 was the last time that happened and we walked away with Allison so uncertainty isn't always a good thing.

If they struggle to find the ball (like Sinclair and Nas did) you put them at half back. It’s the oldest trick in the book.

I really, really like Cooper Simpsons highlights.

Disposal by foot
Stoppage work
Acceleration (which is power)
Kicks goals

He looks like he has a more contested bent than say DiMattia and Charlie Edwards, although Charlie probably better aerially.

I’d put my hand up and say that I’m probably the only one who has written off a player (Shoenmakers) and I have categorically never been wrong in my entire life so there’s no good news for the kid I’m afraid

Also missed a chunk of the champs due to injury. So there’s a lack of exposure there that might have seen him rise higher. Was also in their best in the final they played, which I think is the measure of a footballer.

I’d prefer he to DiMattia personally.

I just feel this is going to be a bloke we look back on in 10 years time and think how did so many clubs overlook him.

He needs a couple of preseasons to get his tank up to an acceptable standard, but he does the hard parts of the game very very well.

you know… DeMattia is a Sydney type of pick.

What’s are the odds we have gone over this footage a trillion times and convinced ourselves he is going to be this line breaking centre mid we desperately need

I haven't paid any attention to the kids or the draft this year. This is the first clip I've seen from this crop....

I don't see it. Good luck to the lad and I hope he makes it. But there must be better available.
