While I dont know anything about any recruits, I don't want another eff'ing HBF'er as a first pick. Best mid, then second best mid, please, I beseech thee. Just for once pick up some frigging mids.
He's not just another half back flanker

Dominated as a forward in the later part of the yearand spent time through the middle.

I'd much rather grab a talented kid like him if he makes it rather than reach for an average midfielder in an average midfield draft.

I thought Leakes highlights had shades of Rozee as a bit of a flanker/mid with some pace and over head marking ability.

Fyfe!

As a lover of the draft, the constant dribble of midfielders midfielders midfielders is not the answer.

We want talented midfielders (typically Top 10-20). These are the players that make up the engine rooms of contenders (Oliver-Petracca-Viney, Macrae-Bont-Smith, Cotchin-Prestia-Martin, Dunkley-Neale-McCluggage, Butters-Rozee-JHF, etc.).

We aren't getting those picks, so we need to make do with the talent around us. Leake is a stud if he lasts until our pick. Couldn't say his name quick enough! Absolute pipe dream...

Yep, grab talent. Although it sounds like he’s every chance of going inside 10 now

Howard was literally in the top 10 efficiency and accuracy for kicking in the entire AFL. So out of the 800 or so AFL players he was top 10 for efficiency. Would probably suggest Howard hits his targets, I'd imagine.
If a kick goes over 40M to a contest, that is judged as an effective kick. Howard does kick it long most times , his kicking isn’t his issue. I think he’s in 2 minds he wants to be an intercept defender, the team wants and needs him to be a lock down defender.

I’d love for Howard to specialise in being a 1 on 1 lockdown defender just so we know we have the giant 200cm forward covered each week. Wilkie plays lockdown defender and hybrid intercept against either the next most dangerous tall or medium forward. Paton or Webster plays lockdown on the most dangerous small

Then let Battle become a genuine Tom Stewart offensive intercept marker, Sinclair and Nas non accountable offensive half backs

Can easily see us calling out Tholstrup or Collard with our first pick, lets face it we struggle to score as well as our midfield issues. We are thin after Butler and Higgo post trade period for smaller forward types.

Expect Charlie Edwards to be available at our next pick as another speedy mid to go with Henry and Dow.

DiMattia would be an ideal pick also with his speed and a great clearance player as well. But if SOS thinks he can get Edwards at 2nd pick I reckon they target Collard or Tholstrup with first pick.

Leake, Windsor, Wilson wont be available to us dont reckon. Big call on Ollie Murphy KPD also if Sydney and Adelaide pass him up. He is a saints supporter too. Highmore and Adams gone suddenly no depth for key backs.

I just don’t see Tholstrup in that small forward category. I’ve seen him listed at 188, though elsewhere 186 and 184. But has played back and mid as well. Most likely he does play forward, but he’s probably a high HF and hybrid mark and create player.

Demattia has been used more as a speedy half back rather than a pure out and out midfielder. I rate him but recruiters seem to think he’s a half back at the next level
I had a chat with Chris Toce yesterday at RSEA Park…there is interest in Charlie Edwards & they’re meeting with him this morning…however he did say “a lot of clubs like Edwards”

Constant source of frustration seeing players stats varying like they do..our club website is also very tardy at updating them.
Heights and weights, playing list changes etc. should be updated regularly!

The priority is speed and mids!

Who draft who's available.

Priority Speed: = Brad Howard.

Sure go for speed if all else is equal, but otherwise take someone good at footy.
We won't be getting mr perfect with our pick.

On midfielders, the swans drafted Warner, GULDEN and SHELDRICK at picks 39, 32 and 18. All are, or will be in Sheldricks case, gun mids. They came in successive drafts from 2019-2021. Nearly every club had a shot at them and missed completely for Sydney to clean up. They even put a bid in for Owens at the pick after Sheldrick.

It CAN be done at our picks.

My only wish outside of ZZ top is whoever we pick has to be good in the contest and should have no dramas winning one on ones through strength. Speed is another big one and would be a bonus.

I had a look at Twomey, ESPN , Sporting news, and 4 Bigfooty user phantom drafts.

None of them have Wilson (11-15 ) or Windsor ( 12-15) available at our pick.
1 of them has Leake ( 188cm utility , but probably defender ) available at our pick.
3 of them have Key Defender Ollie Murphy available at our first pick , none have him at our second.
5 of the 7 have small forward Collard available at our first pick. Only one has him available at our second.
6 of the 7 have midfielder DeMattia available at our first pick. None have him at our second.
All of them have HBF Archie Roberts available at our first pick. Only on has him at our second.
Only 1 has mullet headed diver Tholstrup available at our second.
Only 2 have 188cm defender Hardeman available at our second.
3 have Shoenmaker available at our second.
4 have midfielder Edwards available at our second.
4 204 cm forward archer reid available at our second.
5 have ruckman Goad available at our second.
5 have ruckman Will Green available at our second.
5 have defender Jiath available at our second.
5 have small forward Sanchez available at our second.

So we should take Edwards with our 1st pick yeah?

Gulden was Swans academy.

No one else had a chance at him.
