Colby was back in action for the first time in over a month after a broken bone in his foot threatened to prematurely end his season. It was clear that he wasn't at 100% capacity, getting caught out at times and not able to get to as many contests as he typically would. Its a measure of the elite standards he's set this season that this would have been a very good performance for just about any other midfielder in the Talent League.

I’m probably dreaming but I wonder if we could flip our 2024 first into picks this year and go for 4, thus retaining 5 and 13.

We do love a future pick trade - Probably depends on GC though, do they need points next year as much as this year?

A FF would be better for the Suns too.

Think GC need the points this year, plus someone else would offer them a more appealing offer than that

Think David Zita said the Dogs are the current frontrunners though.
Probably makes sense as they have 10 & 17, and we wouldn't bother doing the trade if it included our 5. Only issue for the Dogs is they need points for Croft too

Match or go close to the points that pick 5 is worth with our second rounders and a FF on top is the deal. Ask for Chol back our way.

Alternative to this is involve Adelaide who get Chol and we get McAdam in a three way trade

As GC's pick 4 will likely actually be pick 6, I'm not all that fussed about it as Reid, Walter, Curtin, Duursma and McKercher will almost certainly be the first five names called.

Rather than going to the draft with pick 4 (6) and 5 (7)— hypothetically eating up our pick 13, 24 and F1— and taking two of O'Sullivan, Watson, Caddy and Sanders, I'd rather try and use 5 + 13 to try and trade up to ~3 for McKercher (holding onto 24 and F1).

Maybe I'm placing too much value on McKercher, but he'd be an absolutely perfect addition to our team.

13 Is overs.

5 and 13 can nab us O’Sullivan/Caddy and Windsor/Wilson

Would rather 2 of those over Mckercher.

Fair enough – Caddy really doesn't move me though.

Wouldn’t put it past Duursma sliding by Hawks/North going Caddy/O’Sullivan anyway considering both there KPP stocks.
