Probably makes sense as they have 10 & 17, and we wouldn't bother doing the trade if it included our 5. Only issue for the Dogs is they need points for Croft too
The move I think makes sense is the dogs get pick 4 but we trade all our seconds (Grundy and Jordan compo) ect for the dogs picks and could end up with 5, 10, 13, 17

We’ve never needed to consider it but I couldn’t imagine a better haul to suit our needs than what the GC are going to get.

Gun big forward, future top end ruck who drops back, darting high production midfielder with foot skills.

Must be nice being able to pluck the best kids in the state and plan your list build years in advance.

Staggers me people think this s**t is fair to the competition.

Watch them trade P4 for a bunch of F1s and end up with 3-4 first rounders next year also.

For a team pushing the 8, it’s no wonder Dimma quit Richmond to move there after burning Richmond’s future on a pair of butchers.

Free ride to another premiership with the talent they have/coming in.

Yeah. I feel like we've completely ignored the opportunities in Ireland. Callum Brown is a beast of a forward for GWS. How much better would our side be if we had got him?

Brisbane, Hawthorn and Geelong are smart enough to have multiple Irish players, knowing that it will alleviate any homesickness and bring them on quicker.

I'm not sure that we even have anyone in Ireland scouting for us.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading we were one of three clubs that were in for Oisin Mullin who debuted for the Cats this year. That would suggest we haven't completely stepped away from Ireland, but we do seem to prefer the lanky former basketballers.

Do Adelaide seriously think they can get Petty for McAdam?

No. This unfolded in typical ridiculous trade rumour style - The McAdam stuff came out, Crom fans on twitter were then suggesting Petty, the low level social-based footy journos then suggest it (ZeroHanger), which gave it enough 'legitimacy' that it made it's way into HeraldSun or Fox or whatever.

He's contracted until 2025, a premiership player, massively rated inside the club and more crucial than ever. He's not going anywhere.

Jay Clark is reporting that the Crows are into him. I'm no fan of the footy media but I think it's a stretch that a Hun journo would be running with twitter rumours.

Gave a rundown above of how I saw it from the first tweet to zerohanger to Jay Clark. I don't follow him super closely, but wouldn't have thought he was the best in the business.

Either way, Clark didn't say the Crows ARE after him, he suggested IF they are after South Australians they might look at Petty or Sparrow:

"Adelaide wants a mature-age player in return but will face heavy resistance from Melbourne if the Crows zero in on versatile tall Harrison Petty or hard nut midfielder Tom Sparrow."

He's not a hack or anything, been around for a while. Exact quote on triple M was "I understand Harrison petty is a player of interest. The Demons would be very reluctant to let go of him."

I don't think any journo with a gig at a paper and on radio is getting their mail off social media or low-tier websites. Would be laughable practice.

Yeah that's a bit more of the domain of fake ITKs

Naive.

expecting a snooze trade period. Trade radio today think 25 players will move. That’s about 1.5 a club which is piss all.

Funny how free agency never really took off. You see maybe one free agent move per year. Players campaigned so hard for it but it's really just become a leverage for getting long term deals done with their current clubs.
