Aint no way its happening unless we trade Cripps. Someone like Sydney likely the only team who would have a need for him rn. Maybe Mckay to North or Hawks a possibility
The only bloke to be in discussions of a chance to target Reid would be Cripps. Who knows his mindset and the dynamic within the club. He is young enough that he could be attractive to West Coast as a corner piece combined with a top four pick to get us pick one.

It is fanciful, but we are in a very surreal place at the moment, personnel wise. I am not advocating, but never say never.

I will not contemplate trading McKay or Curnow. I shouldn’t with Cripps, but there are challenges in place around our leadership which may be stretching the effectiveness of the dynamic going forward.

If DeKoning goes to Sydney, we could have two picks inside top 10, earliest could be pick 3. Reckon that’s a good start for a trade for pick 1. Throw McGovern and Fisher in. Might need more, but it’s a start. Reid is exactly the type of guy need.

Agree with that Cripps is great when he is going, but there seems a alarming gap between his good seasons and last year & also 2021.
Who knows what is going on there, the leader needs more consistency

We should be looking at more high draft picks, not selling the farm for pick one.
Spot on. I said elsewhere we should be aiming for two picks inside the first 12 if possible. Every year, the prospective pick one is the next game changer but in reality that player rarely ends up the best in that draft. Aim for a Jackson/Pickett, Brayshaw/Cerra, Young/Serong type type return.

Surely our target would / should be getting our hands on 3 picks inside 20 and from there have the focus be on dynamic players with pace and skill in equal measure. TDK should net us a mid to late first rounder and we may also need to throw in something else to make it stick. Our own first rounder which should be around 5-8 and then we should try and spin next years first into a top 10-15 pick this year, particularly given we have campo twins next year who may eat up early picks. If we managed to make this happen and had something like picks 6,12 and 17 we could pretty quickly address some of our depth and positional issues. And if we put more run and carry around our bigger bodies it would complement our overall mix and style much better than the current overuse of slower bigger bodies.

I think aside from TDK the only currency we'd have for the first round this year would have to come from our All Australian crop. I'd prefer we refreshed the list weaknesses through some smart recruiting, rather than selling off the elite end of the list that took so long to assemble.

Trading Cripps is a no brainer. Integral to the reset.

By all reports the first 15 are very good and seemingly better vs last year. A lot more KPP talent as well vs last year being very mid heavy. The Wizard sounds like a perfect pick for us…has cult figure written all over him and has everything we lack, speed, dynamic, dazzle, x factor and great with the ground ball.

Or we use the picks ourselves instead of throwing them away on one player:think:
