They are currently using Mitch Owens are that relief forward ruck. So i don't think they are waiting for Membrey.

Membrey plays taller than that though and to my mind for the last 3-4 years has led that forward line outside of King. Owens is more of a utility, who's just as likely to line up in the middle on the weekend as forward.

I'm so on the fence between Stewart (keeper) vs. Mcgrath (potential breakout + $117k) at D3.

Can anybody push me either way? That extra cash would get me Bruhn up to JHF who feels a LOT safer.

I think he averages 80+. Will get a decent amount of time in the midfield. Tackles well. Needs to get a bit more finesse in his game as the bull at a gate style causes him to give free kicks away. In the trial against freo he had 81 with 6 free kicks against.

I think jhf scores higher than bruhn, not sure about Flanders. Will play every game though.

My biggest decisions are coming down to whether i want to pay for 4 keepers in the midfield, backline or fwds

Currently running a 3,3,4.... every year its the same old story of, the only premiums you are comfortable with are the midfielders, but also the only rookies you are comfortable with are also midfield.

Spending 700k+ on rozee and gulden, as well as 800k on cummings has me the most worried, but not sure there is anyone else in these positions

As you get older you start to live life more as a degenerate.... but how much of a degen am I being by running with this team? At the very least I think it will be good fun. Is ginbey a must? Long or Day could go down to Ginbey and the money spent on.... who I don't know. I love my boys all equally.

Funnily enough, I don't mind the mid line as I've got Ashcroft, Mackenzie, Phillips and Ginbey there with Hollands and Long on the bench. But that leaves Cowan, Wilmot, Chesser and McVee to look after D6-D8 and THAT'S the part that scares me.

Thankfully the rumours about Will Philips have allowed me to correct my mistakes.

Powell: Age: 21. 492k, BE 56. Next 5: Eagles, dockers, hawks, blues, lions. Don’t have much background on him…but clarko factor could be consideration

Flanders: Age 21, 508k, BE 57. Next 5: swans, bommers, cats, saints, dockers. (tough draw). Again Don’t have much background on him

Long: Age 25, 513k BE 58. Id take long over Flanders

Mclean: Age 27. 401k, BE 45. Next 5: Dees saints lions, tigers port. Wont be getting much CBA. Can he accumulate stuck fwd? Role??? Bevo factor ! He he avg 60 is that a win?


Do we pay up for someone like Baker? (616k BE 70) cunnington (668k)

Or go down to say henry? (339k BE 38) or AMT (335k) (prob not)

I've since played with dropping JHF back to Henry to bring Daicos up to Doc. I could take Sheed down to Callaghan to make that Ridley out for Doc instead of Daicos. Lockout can't come soon enough.

Latter option is more appealing I think. Drop 10-15 points from Sheed to Callas, and pick up 30 by bringing in Doc, so +15 to 20 points, wheras Daicos to Doc is probably +20, then losing just as much by going down to Henry, assuming it's the Freo version?

I like Bruhn and Flanders. Bruhn probably about 80 yeah, Flanders probably the same, possible a bit more given the old "best PS ever" stuff.

Mclean would safely get your 60, I'd say 70~, but agree he will get next to no CBA/time on ball. he had 0 CBA in the practice match, with them being shared by the 5 blokes ahead of him. No doubt he's a win, I just don't think 70 is enough, when you could pick a rookie who scores 60, spend the 200k elsewhere, and come out 10 points ahead.

The rest of them I wouldn't touch. JHF being so popular surprises me, given he was hardly a high end scorer last year, and just can't see him scoring enough to make points per dollar worth it.
