Is Mullin really worth picking? After the bye, Geelong have a ton of players coming back so it'll be unlikely he makes the cut after this week.
Only has to be better than the 24th worst player, and better than the 23rd best player

With Cinc in I have 24 playing post-trades.. obviously 3 of those on the bench, but as they can be loop options, I almost get three goes at the bottom three spots in my 18. Feels like over kill so my contemplation of bringing in a Round 12 premo is growing.

EDIT: Geeze missed that Atkins is still in. So I have 22 playing pre-trades.

If ive got 20 onfield still, is it worth trading Atkins this week over Wilmot and getting Cincotta instead of Ollie Lord as i can't afford Cincotta without trading Atkins.
Well you won't have Atkins next week either - but it's more about the heartbeats you think you will need for Rounds 14 and 15 - if having him still gives you 18 (or gets you closer) in either of the rounds, especially over real rookies, then he may be worth keeping - you'll know best.

I might add that David Swallow was interviewed and said "Atkins is getting some continuity in his game and is starting to cement himself in the team".

I was shocked to be honest - cemented in the team! That would indicate he might be safe for the Byes. Or did Swallow misunderstand ol Dewie? Cemented or has cement boots?

Bray comes in next week (13)
Oliver comes in round 15

Bereft of ideas for who the round 14 target is. Should be Touk or Steele but one is injured and the other is shizen. Who is everyone planning on getting?

Do I just go the route of fixing red dots (Greene, Wagner)? Atkins still out as the third trade?
Could go
Wagner -> Mullins
Greene -> Harrison/Fahey
Fiorini -> Butters

Yeah, just feel like I'm going in far too heavy this round when I could be better setting myself up for later rounds. But that probably is the right approach regardless. Having 24+ playing this week feels like overkill.

If you have 24 this week, it seems you are in for some pain down the track .....yes, I'd be looking at future weeks with your trade plans

Don't think I'm in for any pain looking at my set up. My structure is 5-4-11-10 post trades as things stand (or if I follow the above suggested trades I'd be 5-4-10-11) and would only have the one red dot (Drury).

Stuff it, I'm doing this:

Keeping Wagner over Michalanney to give me a loop option in defence and because Michalanney is going to start dropping cash, can ditch Wagner next week. Also gives me more cash in the bank plus Bray off his bye next week.

Means I look like this:

Then think it'll be Fio, Atkins and Wagner or a Rd 15 player out next week. Means I can loop between Atkins and Wardlaw in Mid, and Mullin and Fahey in defence.

Means structure is 6-5-8-11 so can start shifting out the Rd 14 and Rd 15 guys but should be pretty comfortable with players unless I cop bullets to rookies (who wouldn't add much score anyway..). But Drury (and McAndrew?) my only two red dots going forward after next week.

Oliver returns Round 13.

Try the highest on you don't have from column 14. It's the current top 30 by average, split into playing which bye rounds

Get Butters this week (seeya Worpel and keep MacRae Ashcroft), get Bray next week. It'll help you our a little bit for Round 15 (by switching worpel Rd14 Bye to Butters Rd15 Bye - giving an extra week and keeping MacRae Ashcroft in this week, which is week you can afford to have him missing, but keeps you in the mix for the next three rounds if you find you need him).

Yeah this is where my head starts to hurt.

Butters in Rd 12, plays 12, 13, 14 not 15 = 3 played
Brayshaw in Rd 13, plays 13, 14, 15 = 3 played
= 6 games but one less playing in 15

Brayshaw in Rd 12, plays 13, 14, 15, not 12 = 3 played
Sinclair in Rd 13, played 13, 14, 15 = 3 played
= 6 games but one more playing in 15

Currently 23 playing in Rd 12, would be 24 with Butters (meaning one less rookie counts so maybe ~ +30-40 points).
Currently 17 playing in Rd 15 (assuming no McAndrew or Drury), would still be 18 if Bray and Sinc the two trade ins, still 17 if it's Butters + Bray.

It doesn't feel like it adds enough extra points getting Butters this week? Unless he goes massive of course.
